Some things were really over salted, others were a little uninspired, and OMG portion sizes -- I know that it is gauche to serve mass quantities, but I really thought a gnocchi dish, even a tapas-sized one, would have more than 4 teaspoon-sized gnocchi on it, you know? Or that a place that serves a 40 ounce steak (designed for two people, but STILL!) would put more than 3-4 ounces of lamb on the plate for an entree? Anyway there are so many really great chefs -- even just on our island -- and their restaurants are a bit more of an intimate experience and more up our alley I'd suspect. Plus in most cases, a little lower price point.
