It isn't cold enough for DH's leather jacket or coat, yet it is chilly and I'm sure he probably ended up taking his leather jacket or nothing this morning. Since a hoodie wouldn't go with a shirt and tie or polo, what is a good chilly weather cover for him? I'm clueless.

DH has a car coat made out of heavy canvas...don't remember where he got that one. For rainy/cool days, he also has a soft shell car coat. I think it is a Kuhl. Both were pricey but can be worn with work clothes as well as jeans. Therefore, he actually gets more wear out of them than his wool coat. Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

The wool coat doesn't come out often. He has a heavy coat that can be separated to make a less heavy jacket, but it looks off with slacks and a tie. I bought that coat because he was freezing when taking the train to the hospital in the 3 weeks of real winter here. He likely wore the less heavy jacket or leather this morning.Veronica

DH has that sweater in charcoal (and another in navy from Brooks Brothers) -- he wears them with jeans as well as to work with slacks, a dress shirt and a tie. Super versatile and can be dresses up and down.

When it's too cold for shirtsleeves but too warm for a jacket, I usually go with a sports coat or a blazer. Example attached.

I'll suggest he use one of his sport coats next time. Thanks!Veronica

This kind of jacket is a great option for fall (and probably most of winter for your area):

DH has a khaki canvas field jacket, but it's fairly casual and looks best with jeans (would not look great with khakis, haha). He also has a couple soft sport shells (North Face and Adidas) in grey and black that work with khakis, a navy waterproof rain shell, and one very light wool short jacket in charcoal grey. This is, of course, not counting the many heavier-weight coats and jackets. You know you're from Minnesota when...Wife of PGY-4 (of 6), cat herder, and mom to a sassy-pants four-nager.
