I'm in the market for a new laptop, and I know I'm getting another Apple. I just can't decide whether I should get a MacBook Air ($999) or a MacBook ($1299). Can anyone shed any light on why I shouldn't just go with the cheaper MacBook Air? I don't play video games and I rarely edit video. I primarily use my laptop for word processing and the Internet, with a little photo editing thrown in.

MacBook vs. MacBook Air

I have the tiny Air, and I'm really happy with it. I use it for internet, word processing, and photo management (not really much editing). It barely weighs more than a tablet, so it's super easy to carry around.
It does not have a disc drive, which is occasionally annoying, but we have an external drive that I can easily plug into a usb port.Julia - legislative process lover and general government nerd, married to a PICU & Medical Ethics attending, raising a toddler son and expecting a baby daughter Oct '16.

MacBook vs. MacBook Air
JDAZ11 Do you mean the MacBook doesn't have an internal disc drive or the Air?
oceanchild Is there anything that you can't do with your Air (besides the disc drive issue) that you wish you could, or that you could do with a desktop Mac?
