  • Where are you shopping lately?

For me, I'm done, done, done with AT and Loft. It was a hard breakup because I was die hard. I tried to revive it over the course of a few years. Clothes didn't last for the price. We had a beautiful 20 years together. I miss us in the good ol days when I would stop in and buy cute stuff off the rack because I knew my size and fit. <sigh>

Now, I spend 95% of my clothing allowance at Black House White Market, Target, and Talbots. Talbots is very new for me and I had to get over the fact that my Grandma shopped there. What I have found is that I love Talbots pants. I need pants for work that are flattering and have pockets for cell phones and photo ID/keys. Talbots and BHWM are spendy so I'm still trying to maximize their system. BHWM has an outlet nearby and I wait for their coupons and then call ahead and have them pull stuff of ra 10% discount (even if you buy nothing that they pulled ahead of time, you get 10%). I just joined the Talbot fan club or whatever they call it and got 10% off their sale stuff. Even then it is at the upper end of my comfort zone for spending money. I do like that their clothes wash nice and last at least a few seasons. Few retailers can say that. My SIL is very high up in a well known large American apparel retailer and she openly acknowledges that they make disposable clothes. Ridic.

I've had some luck with JC Penneys of all places for DD who is out of girl sizes but not ready for juniors styling.

My boys rock the American grunge look. Oldest occasionally wears Hollister and youngest wears Gymboree occasionally. Mostly its t-shirts and jeans.

Hubby wears dockers and RL and scrubs.

Where are you spending your hard earned cash, beside Lilly Pulitzer at Target? LOL.
In my dreams I run with the Kenyans.

Kohl's, Eddie Bauer, J.Jill, and Penney's. Occasionally Macy's and Carson's for myself. Eddie Bauer and J.Jill are online shopping. DH and DS #1 love Eddie Bauer, too. The other two boys are all about American Eagle and Dick's for athletic wear. Shoes are DSW, Clarks, or The Walking Company for me, and Dick's, Finish Line, or DSW for the boys and DH.

We like stuff that lasts, so DH eBays all the Patagonia outdoor equipment for our family. I usually grab a pair of flip flops for the season out of Ross or some such (this year, is black memory cushion Roxy's) and DS1's shoes are also snagged there. Socks and underwear are a Marshall's thing for all of us, and I stock up as needed when I notice stashes running low.

I have recently re-introduced myself to old navy (it's been probably 10 years) to search their clearance for occasional themed t-shirts for the boys (Disney stuff, on the super cheap).

I don't shop for DH - he is a freaking clothes horse and has claimed the closet in our spare room as his... And it is full. 😐

I still shop a lot at Loft, mostly for the size reasons, especially the petite options. When I can, I drive an hour to the outlets and shop at the Loft Outlet and Banana Republic Outlet (who also carries nice petite options). I've been doing Stitch Fix too, although I'm down to every other month. I do have a handful of Talbots pieces (another store with petites) - my mom shops there, and I'll go in with her sometimes and occasionally find things that I really like. I had a pair of skinny jeans that I really liked, but they didn't make the move.

I shop almost exclusively at Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, Banana Republic, and Zappos. Mostly because I'm a creature of habit and I don't looove shopping. I also pick up impulse items at Target because I'm a sucker. Oh and I do have an American Eagle jegging obsession.

Kids clothes I get at OshKosh , Gap, Gymboree, Target and will sometimes make a Mini Boden or Tea splurge. I will cry my own tears when they don't let me pick out their clothes.

Ha,ha...I was a huuuge Talbots shopper back in my mid 20s until mid thirties. Their clothes where, inded, classic and worked well at my first higher ed admin job. About a decade ago, they totally changed their sizing and now I have to try everything and is a PITA. I still buy a few pieces here and there but I no longer think the quality is the same.

I am also an Ann Taylor fan but have noticed that they have gotten trendier and trendier. So, although I love my old suits, I really have not shopped there in the last year because I have noted that newer suits are not faring as well as the old suits.

I still buy Tahari suits and get them either at TJMaxx or on sale at Dillards. For casual clothes, I like Athleta, Ibex, Ice breaker, Prana, Sundance (only on sale) and Patagonia. My fav jeans right now are from Gap and colored ones from Ralph Lauren that I found on sale at Dillards.
Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

Mostly Stitch Fix lately. I'm addicted... I go to Old Navy when I actually need to go to a store. Dillards isn't bad, but ours here is pretty small, so I feel like I walk out without buying anything more often than I find something good. For shoes, I usually shop at Ross.

I don't shop since we moved. There are no stores here I care for. Mostly I prefer Athleta and a store called Evereve. My jeans were 40% off at Lucky and I have a couple from AG. most of the time, 90% I say, you'll find me in workout clothes. Most of my t-shirts come from Target. I used to shop the Loft, but I have moved away from there since the quality has gone down. DH shops at Kohls and Dick's. DD13 likes American Eagle, Some Aero stuff and used to love Delia's before they closed. The younger girls like Aero and Justice the most.😝 The baby gets clothes from Target, Osh Kosh, some a children's Place or Gymboree depending on what is on sale.

I'm almost exclusively shopping resale/consignment/thrift stores these days for me and the kids with some basics from target throughout. I enjoy the hunt. I find more interesting pieces resale and I'm more willing to experiment if I'm not spending much. Also, I'm less likely to be upset if my kids ruin my clothes or if I just don't like something any more. Once I tire of something, I resell what I can and use my store credit to buy something "new". Some of my favorite things - my Brahman bag, my Diane von Furstenberg blouses - I bought second hand. I never would have bought them retail. I'm actually to the point where I feel overwhelmed at department stores. And my friends are always asking me to take them shopping.

I shop a lot at Ann Taylor, Gap/Old Navy- for dd Gymboree or children's place. Although I am shopping pretty much daily on Amazon - mainly toys, books, games and such. Prime is saving my butt in Hawaii

Ann Taylor and BR for me. AT petites fit me well. I wear scrub bottoms and a pullover fleece for work so no expensive clothes there. I recently found a lot of new pieces at jcrew outlet. We have good outlets in three different directions. I'll start hitting those more with all the kids in school next year.

I love American prep. My dream clothes are Kate spade, vineyard vines and LP. I just can't afford them.
