Super cute skirt. I don't really have any strong feelings about the shirts but I'm noticing that they send you a lot of round neck, loose tops and I can't help but think that you need some more variety and some tops that nip in at waist more. You have such a cute shape and tops with some kind of waist, like belted or tied or just more structured, would flatter you so much better.

Thank you all! I'm not sure what happened in the picture of the solid blue shirt, but it really isn't tight across my chest. I even re-tried it on to make sure. I may try on some cheaper maxi dresses at Target or Old Navy, but I can't pay that much to try out a style I don't love.

You're so right! I've sent a lot of them back for being unflattering, but I guess I've kept enough that they think I like them a lot. I need to check my Pinterest page, too. I bet I have too many of that style pinned.

Ugh. Just got my July Stitch Fix and I'm about ready to throw in the towel. Three fixes so far, each with a different stylist, and none of them are hitting the mark for me. I do better at thrift stores. Tell me whether any of these are worth buying so I don't lose the styling fee. (Sorry, I'm having a lot of trouble uploading pictures. I'm sure they will all be sideways if they show at all.)

41Hawthorn Moni Stud Detailed 3/4 Sleeve Blouse. $58. This one is the best bet in terms of fit but, I think StitchFix made about 16 million of these and they send it to every single subscriber. I've seen it coming and going in various colors and patterns. I specified in my profile that I love bright colors and patterns so of course they sent it in black. It also has some weird cut out that emphasizes the elbow. I'm not adverse to showing my elbows but I just don't get the point of showing them off. Elbows are generally kind of ugly. I don't think it's worth the price to buy a blouse that everyone else is wearing.

Papermoon for Stitchfix Petites, Descano Beaded Neckline Blouse. $48. This is one of the better options. It fits nicely but overall I'm unimpressed with the quality. It's super sheer and comes with an ill-fitting camisole. I like pattern but I'm feeling sort of "eh" about this one. It's the least expensive item in the fix but IDK if it's worth investing another $28.

Margaret M Christiana Skirt in Navy. $78. Supremely unflattering and poorly made. It doesn't have a lining or zipper or anything. It's just a spandex band that exposes all my lumps. Just a big nope.

Sanctuary Monti Knit Jacket. $98. This is too big in the shoulders and really poorly made. While I like pattern and I like black & white, this pattern isn't doing it for me.

Ezra Brianna Dress. $88. I'll have to delete this picture later because my girls are exposed. The dress doesn't come with a lining or slip and I don't have anything appropriate to wear under it. Regardless, it's itchy (even in the parts where a slip would cover) and poorly made. The high collar makes it look matronly (even with the girls exposed).

I also have the studded black top and I've gotten so many compliments on it. It's a good piece I think.

See, that's kind of my point with the black blouse. Everyone has it already. If I wait a couple months, I'll pick up the same top for $6 at a thrift store.

Yes, everyone who gets Stitch Fix gets that top. Mine is a different print, but they sent me another one a few months later, even though I'd kept the first print.

I don't think they have your style right, either. I wonder if it's that each new stylist is sending you some of her favorites instead of paying attention to your profile and Pinterest page? But as far as the price, do you have it set to the cheapest options? You won't get anywhere near the prices you're used to at thrift shops, but maybe going up a level could increase quality or going down a level could make it closer to what you're willing to pay?

On my Pinterest page, I try to focus on pinning items from reviews others have posted of their boxes and things Stitch Fix posts on their page. That way I can make sure I'm getting the same or very similar things in my box that I like.

MrsK, I have to agree with you. They're striking out every time for you, and a lot of what I see them sending to everyone is just "meh". I do like the black top but I definitely hear what you're saying about everybody having it... Not sure if imsn is a representative sample of" everybody " though. I also notice that a lot of the brands are ones I see for $20 or so at TJ Maxx so I kind of raise an eyebrow at the prices too. If I wanted to mix up my wardrobe a bit and get some pieces like these I would just take a stylish friend to TJ Maxx and tell her to pick things for me!

I sent it all back. That hawthorne top has been in nearly every stitch fix review I've read on line too. If it's that popular and I decide that I really have to have it, I'll find it again in a resale shop or a copy at Target for much less.

IDK why they don't "get" me. I'm very specific in my comments and requests. I've given them a lot of info in my user profile right down to my measurements. I've linked my Pinterest board. I keep my Pinterest board updated with pins from the Stitch Fix pages, SF reviews, as well as other sources and even pinning some of my own outfits. I'm not especially hard to fit, I like a variety of styles, and I'm willing to experiment with clothes. For the price points, I have most items set to 50-100. I'm not willing to spend more than $100 on most items so I don't want to jump to the next level because then they'll only sent me stuff that's over $100. I'd hoped that their stylists would be able to provide a fresh eye and give me some new ideas but everything they've sent has been sort of boring, poorly constructed, and ill fitting.

I'm thinking that maybe it's that I've requested only machine washable clothing? Maybe that's just not their inventory? Or maybe I've been spoiled by my thrifting habit? I mean, 80% of my wardrobe is thrifted/resale with the other 20% being foundation garments, shoes, and special I-can't-live-without-it retail items. I think I do pretty good; I get a lot of compliments on my clothes and friends ask where I shop all the time. I keep asking all of you what you think in case I'm just totally dressing like a freak and the Stitch Fix stylists are giving me good advise but you haven't been impressed with my fixes either.

I think maybe part of the "problem" is that you already know your style and can do it well at a significantly lower price range. Like MSB said, it's not something a stylish person couldn't do for cheaper at TJMaxx. It's for people like me who have very limited ideas about fashion and dressing themselves. Stitch Fix might just not be for you.
