well, last night i got some burt's bees lip gloss stuff and some curel for my dried, cracked bleeding hands.

all because of this list...they better be fab!
...I know!! I am glad to read about a lot of these things...that was definitely my intention, to help us figure out the good, the bad & the ugly b4 we buy/try!!

Oh- I have to add Kheil's moisturizers. I lovethe fact that they're scent free and the baby version is amazing.

The dude has really dry skin and a little goes a long way. Their baby wash is expensive but you use so little that it actually lasts a long time. We use the regular moisturizer and my husband uses the moisturizer with the sunscreen (it makes me break out but he loves it)

I definitely second Jesher's Aveda recommendation, too. It's worth it and I love the fact that you can just buy a new bottle and reuse the pump. My crunchy side appreciates it.

What do you all think of Fresh's SUGAR lip balm?

          http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.j ... goryId=B70

Does it work or is it just gimmicky?

I have tried Fresh sugar lip balm . . . its very effective but the best part is the great scent/feel. You can get equally effective cheaper lip gloss its just not nearly so much fun. At $22 bucks I am not sure I will buy again anytime soon.

              Tried and true: Aerobed
We have the crappiest version and I still love it. We've taken it with us to other people's homes and used it in our own.

Suck on every level. Heavy, bed is uncomfortable, not so convenient, etc.

Since a lot of these are makeup "tried and trues" thought I would mention a site I like - http://www.makeupalley.com. I never impulsively buy (I'm a nerd and have to research almost everything!! ) and makeupalley has been a good source for makeup/skincare reviews...

ITA! As well their fabrics for the most part don't feel so nice.

                    Rapunzel,

For a cheap fix for broken costume jewelry, take it to a bead store and have them show you how to replace the o-ring, jump ring, or clasp with a stronger version. You can diy on the cheap if you have the materials.

Sylvia, have you tried Aquaphor lotion? I had painfully dry fingers, and even had to go on steroid creams to help. Then I tried Aquaphor combined with less frequent hand washing. (apparently I was a neurotic hand washer ) Within a week my dry hands were cured, it was wonderful to cure something I had lived with for 2 1/2 years. (and I thought I was allergic to the dudes...)

My hands have been awful since the kids were born - I get by with only washing in lukewarm water, and always putting on neutrogena fragrance-free dermatologist recommended hand cream after washing hands, while they're still slightly damp. And I try to always wear gloves in the garden.
