Birthday present for a couple

A cooking school here has a couples class about once a month.

I like the cocktail shaker and glass idea too.

The immersion blenders don't take up much space. I love mine and use it almost daily.

She's not into cooking and classes are hard because she's still in Pittsburg until May and I have no idea what her schedule will be like after that. I looked into couples massages and they're about $200-300. They have a whole shaker/bartending set, they're registered for every possible glass under the sun. Come to think of it, they probably registered for all kitchen-related items they wanted, so I should scratch WS.

What do you use the immersion blender for?

I use the immersion blender most frequently to make smoothies for myself or my kids. I also use it for soups (puree in the pot), sauces, dressings, chocolate ganache (less likely to separate), drinks, mayonnaise, etc. If the blender has an whisk attachment it can be used for egg whites or whipping cream but I find that it works best for small amounts of those things.

I would vote for a really swanky bottle of champagne, a pair of mongrammed bath robes, or a restaurant gift certificate.
