Need digital camera suggestions

Our Canon has officially died. I was hoping that a new memory card and a call to a tech center might save it but no luck. I've spent all morning looking through reviews on Amazon and there are just too many options. I need a very basic camera (90% of the time I use the Auto mode) but this time would like something small and slim. Do you have one like that? Do you like it?

We just got an Olympus FE 280 for Christmas, and so far, so good. It is little, about the same size as a deck of cards but not as thick. It can take short video clips. The resolution is great. I am a pretty basic photographer, too. HTH!

If you want another Canon I have the Canon IS900 and LOVE it! It has never taken a bad picture for me, has great battery life and is super small.

The Nikon Coolpix point and shoot digital cameras are really good. I have an old 3.2 megapixel one that I use when I don't want to lug around my SLR.

BIL (a photographer) just advised FIL to buy a Canon Elph. They just returned from India and got some amazing pictures -- it looks incredible. Size-wise it seems to fit your requirements.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I was in the outlets today and got this. It was on sale for $120. The reviews for this and Canon Elph are very similar.
