    Sue,

    http://www.rocknrollmarathon.com

It sounds really cool, but I have to be honest, I'm still a little indecisive about the final choice: Grandma's (June 21), Madison (May 25), or San Diego Rock & Roll (June 1). It has already snowed so I may need the later dates to get in more distance runs to prepare. However, the downhill aspect of the RocknRoll does tempt me. I'll try to give you a final answer soon.

By the way, all are welcome to join us in our pursuit of the marathon goal!
    Any other takers?

Sounds like there may be a little time yet to decide on a race. I'm really pumped about this--I went for a run with my sister on Saturday and we ran 7 miles. I felt great almost the whole time!!! I'm going to try to get myself to about 12 by January when the training program starts.

          Jenn,

It is a little disconcerting that the only other accomplished marathoner is saying "hell no" to the prospect of another. You're scarin' me!

            Kelly-

I'm only saying that because I blew out my leg and it took for 6 freaking months to get in some semblance of a pain free existence! I think it's great to do (once).

I just got an email from my room-mate from college who just did her first this weekend (the Baltimore City Marathon, which she said took place in the absolute worst parts of the city- crack pipes and condoms!)

I'm not a marathon runner...but I have decided to run an 8K race on November 24th. It's the 8K attached to the Philadelphia Marathon. I'm excited and nervous! If you remember from another post of mine, I've only run one race before...a 5K at the beginning of September. I'm trying to keep motivated with exercising and participating in races with friends has worked so far!

Truthfully, I don't have aspirations to run a marathon...maybe a half marathon, but even I don't know about that.

An 8 K was my second step in this adventure. The goals keep getting grander from there. Best of luck and have a good time!
