How do you keep a toddler warm when you plan to be outside for several hours in 30 degree weather? Kris, please don't stone me!! Seriously...last weekend we went to a Mardi Gras parade and had Daegan dressed in a tanktop onesie with a long sleeve oneise on top. He had on legwarmers, a big ol' cloth diaper, and long khaki pants. He had on socks and shoes, a hat and mittens and then a thicker/puffy-style coat with hood on over that. When I was holding him, I could keep his mittened hands tucked between us....but when I got him home and undressed him, his little feet were like ice cubes! And I think they kinda hurt him a bit because he fussed and pulled them away when I tried to rub them gently to warm them.
Am I just not supposed to keep him outside in that kind of weather? Should I double up on socks and mittens? He seemed to want to run around and play (until he got tired)....so maybe I'm worrying for nothing??
Have I mention how much I dislike cold weather lately? I'm trying to convince Russ that he can only look at fellowships on the Equator.
