    Hi

I am Aisha and DH is an intern in Family Medicine. We have been married a little over three years now We now live in lovely central Texas (not joking, there are worse places). I have a BS in Petroleum Engineering and worked for 6 years in IT before heading back for a MS in computer science. You would have thought I would love it after my work experience, but I didn't and have changed directions ... currently working towards my MS in Nursing to be a midwife via the RN to MSN route and I love it

 what is your profession- I am currently a Stay at home mother, personal secretary to a doc, activity planner, etc. Before I had Emma I was a research assistant for a molecular biologist at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. I have a BS in Biology (pre-med emphasis), and a BA in French (culture/civ emphasis). I would like to go back to school and get a graduate degree- I am learning towards something in the health sciences, I will most likely will not go to med school, it was a dream that after I met Matt decided was something I wasn't sure about.

 what is your significant other's medical specialty/year- Matt is an R2 or CA-1 (which ever system you like) in Anesthesia

 family- Matt and I have been married for 4 1/2 years, and still going strong. We have a 10 mos daughter, Emma (er puppy on somedays).

Oh we live in the "Emerald City" or land of perpetual rain (Seattle, WA). Actually it is not as bad as everyone told us it would be. The first day we had sunshine, we were amazed, but then the fascination wore off after it happened quite frequently.

Kris- I love your little devil face you made after you said "I'm currently the mom of three little angels "

          Dures-

You're right...we do have similar backgrounds in that our career path veered from our college studies a bit. My first job was as an editor, where I got into electronic media...taught myself html, took classes and got really interested in the web. I then went to work for an Internet company as a producer/community manager...and experienced the whole being bought out, lay offs and eventual folding. I then ended up working where I am now...and the best part of my job is what you described w/ best of both worlds. I get to code pages without being a hardcore programmer...and I get to manage content while still being a computer geek. 8)

          Sorry so long!

I work for a start-up telecom company and my fiance is a 4th yr med student at Mt. Sinai (interviewing for Anaesthesiology residencies). We are currently planning our wedding (April '03), which is driving us nuts. No plans for kids yet but we do have an adorable cat.

                Hi--

 I work in book publishing as a production editor. I grew up in the midwest, have a bachelor's in English, and have been living here in New York City for the past 4 years.

 My boyfriend is a first-year med student and is one of the oldest people in his class. In a previous life (or at least it feels that way now) he earned a doctorate in molecular genetics.

 We've been together for a little over a year and a half, and have been living together for 3 months.
Married to a hematopathologist seven years out of training.

I am a stay-at-home-mom to three boys, ages 7, 4, and 1 -- it is impossible for me to list all the "jobs" that I do -- but I am not very good at most of them! Before kids, I was a music teacher at the middle school level. I will probably go back to work at some point, but right now I have no idea what I would want to do.

My husband is an OB/GYN in the Air Force. He did his residency at the military hospitals in San Antonio, and finished in 2001. He will get out of the Air Force in 2005. We currently live in north Texas -- 2 hours from anywhere -- and are hoping for a change this summer.

I'm Jennifer, orginally from Michigan, transplanted to Northeast, Ohio for my husband's neonatology fellowship.

I am a research assistant with a sports psychology degree turned SAHM to a 13 month old daughter and 33 yr old boy.

We are in the midst of interviews for attending positions in the midwest and are both ready to leave the realm of medical training.

                      Hi everyone,

                      I'm Muriel. I'm 26.

I work as a web/UI designer in NYC where I grew up.

My boyfriend is in his 2nd-year. He lives in NJ. We met almost three years ago when he was living in NYC. Not sure what he's planning to do after school. But hopefully nothing too stressful cause I cannot take it anymore.

Here are some pics of us from this summer.

                        Welcome

                        Hi Vishenka69-

Haven't had a chance to welcome you to the Forum yet... so Welcome Glad you found us.

First of all, CONGRATS on the engagement whoohoo! April's just around the corner. Let us know how the planning goes.

My BF is a 4th year, too. There's a handful of other 4th year SOs on the Forum, as well. So I'm sure we're all going to have a "fun" countdown to Jan. 31 (Jay's specialty is an early match) and March 20. Is your fiance currently interviewing? How is the process coming along? Feel free to share your experiences with us here.

Anyway, it was nice meeting you and I look forward to getting to know you better.

I am a SAHM of 4 boys ages 11, 8, 6 and 3. I also work as a medical transcriptionist, which is supposed to be part-time but has ended up being a 6 to 8 hour day job. I graduated with a BA from Brigham Young University in psychology and a Japanese minor (quite the combination I know!) I had an awesome job lined up to be an English and culture teacher and coordinator for a Japanese Foreign Exchange Program in Los Angeles. I got married instead and have never regretted it!

My DH is in his internship year of residency going into anesthesia here in sunny (finally!) San Antonio. We have been married for 12 1/2 years and still going strong.

Dures, thanks for the link. I was out of town when it first started and missed the whole thing.

Crystal, you and I have a lot in common! I am also a SAHM of 3 although 2 are school age. I have a BS in Biology and am considering a return to school in a few years (after my youngest is school age) to be a pharmacist. Previously I worked in Cytogenetics and Internal Medicine doing arthritis research at UT Southwestern in Dallas

Husband just finished Peds residency and has started his Heme/Onc fellowship here in Salt Lake City.
