    Re: Halloween

My company had a halloween party with games and prizes. I got tons of loot! Two rubber bracelets, a skull necklace, two headbands, a cookbook, and a tray of brownie bites! I didn't wear a costume today, just a black shirt, but now I'm all decked out!

We're going to give out candy since this is the first year we'll get trick or treaters. (We've been in apartments since we got married.) At about 8:00, we'll turn off the porch light and go to a party at another resident's house. We're medieval fair junkies, so we're just wearing our costumes we bought for that. I have a renaissance dress, and my husband has a Scottish outfit - complete with a kilt!

      Happy Halloween from octopus girl!

P.S. Those pumpkins are staying uncarved this year. Hope the trick-or-treaters find them decorative enough as they are.

We did Boo at the Zoo and the Museum of Natural History last weekend. We did downtown trick or treating this AM. Tonight will be the last hurrah. I have Princess Jasmine and a Chicken.

Our street is supposed to do brisk Halloween business- my neighbor told me she counted over 400 kids last year We have a laundry basket full of candy.

Oh Cheri - it is EXACTLY like the kid from A Christmas Story! How cute!

Cheri - I *heart* Cora the Octopus. Now you need to write a children's book to go along.

Elizabeth - an adorable costume and GREAT photograph.

OMG....Cheri, Julie and Elizabeth.....my heart melted when I saw the photos of your girls! An octopus costume would have been perfect for DD since her theme song these days is "The Grabbing Hands."

We had a puppy and a bumblebee in our house. We were only able to hit three houses before DS became antsy for a taste of his spoils. We called it a night early and once the kids were in bed, DH and I ordered a pizza and then pillaged DS's stash.

I'll post pics of the kids as soon as I get them downloaded.

Heehee. I'm pretty sure my parents went through my hard-earned candy, too! The Tootsie rolls were always missing (my mom)!

We're going to a Halloween party tonight... next door to a certain presidential candidate's house. The hostess had to submit a guest list to secret service. Dh and I aren't dressing up nor staying long, since he's on call. This should be interesting!

Zoe missed her nap in the afternoon and was getting crabby while I got her costume on her. After she was ready, I turned my attention to the boys to help them with their costumes. I turned around to gather her up so that we could head out the door:

Fortunately, she woke up quickly and was eager to go:

I didn't get pics of Andrew and Amanda this year. Amanda didn't wear a costume and Andrew wouldn't let me take a picture:

Ok, quick Halloween story from my MIL...

My IL's live in a busy neighborhood for trick or treating so she gets to see a lot of costumes and it just so happened that this year she got a kid who looked like he had been shot in the head (some sort of fake gun thing....). Well, a couple of trick or treaters later, a kid dressed up like a doctor comes around (scubs, etc.) and my MIL says to the doctor "I just had someone trick or treat who looked like he got shot in the head. Where were you when he needed help?" Without missing a beat, the doctor kid replies "I was playing golf."

                              HAHAHAHAHAHA!

                              TOO FUNNY!

So my little guy was dressed as a monkey, but apparently the costume wasn't too convincing because nobody thought he was a monkey, rather everyone thought he was a teddy bear.

                              Oh, well. Cute, nonetheless.

The pictures are great! Halloween is one of my favorite holidays...I don't know why...maybe because we grew up having huge Halloween parties every year as kids. This year the holiday was a disapointment because I couldn't get the MD BF to actually give me a 'go ahead' on the costume planning. I think that being an MD and having such limited time def changes your concept of time and how you allocate it. I'm starting to realize more and more that I have to just go ahead and do what I want without him and that makes me sad I guess. ANYWAY, no more raining on the parade. Thanks for sharing everyone!
