    Re: So, how'd it go?

Dh wanted to come with me to vote, but said he wouldn't be out until later this afternoon. I just went by myself, and didn't have to wait.

Starbucks will take your word, Nellie. I've heard it's just for a drip coffee though.

It's 70 degrees here today, so maybe I'll go the Coldstone later. It's about a block away.

How did you know they were Obama supporters, isn't any election material illegal within like 100 yards of a polling place?

DH voted about 9 said he was in and out, I just got home from voting and it took me about 10 minutes.

Voted.....the line was over an hour....thankfully Russ was there so were could play "pass the Duker." They don't do stickers in Louisiana apparently.....when I asked the guy looked at me like I was a little kid asking for a lollipop after a doctor's visit. My boss told me he's never gotten a sticker.

No stickers here either! Just a stupid slip of paper that says "thank you for voting."

            Re: So, how'd it go?

DH left the house before six to get there when the polling place opened and waited an hour. I went at a little after 2 and didn't wait at all.

I went at 9:30am expecting a wait. Nope. I was actually one of three people voting at that time.

                They were out of stickers.
Line wasn't too bad at all, and then I got some coffee at Starbucks

The dog waited... and then walked home with me. And got tons of attention in line.

My cousin in the Communist part of Virginia reported that at 10am there was no line but earlier the before work crowd had REALLY long lines. Haven't heard from mom today- she's out working the crowds for the Democrat for District 1 in Maryland (Frank Krativil).

                    Re: So, how'd it go?

75 minute wait. I had to vote at my old neighborhood precinct given that I haven't updated my license after moving a year ago. Our old neighborhood is so big we have an entire location devoted to just us. It was fun catching up with old neighbors and getting razzed for not living there anymore. I didn't feel so bad when another old neighbor walked up who had moved a year before I did. The kids were in school and the weather was really nice, so it wasn't that bad waiting.

I'm really bummed I didn't wait until today. It seems a huge percentage of JoCo actually voted early, so the lines here haven't been bad at all.

DH asked me to wait for him, so we went around 5. The drive there took longer than voting. But some people at the hospital told him they had to wait for over an hour.

LOL! No deal with the Eggnog Latte...just me being greedy. And since I didn't get a sticker, I wanted to treat myself

DH and I voted at 12:30. There was no line at all. In fact, there were several empty stations, and it was a really pleasant atmosphere with the chatty retired folk running the poll. DH and I are watching the results now. It's exciting to see so many people so energized in this election - I just really hope it doesn't completely simmer out once the election is over. We need this momentum to continue to get our country back on track!

It's 8:50pm CT and I think it's over. CNN just tried to get McCain to 270 with some very generous states and they couldn't do it.

                                Re: So, how'd it go?

The other half voted this morning on his way in to the hospital. He got to the nearby middle school at 6:30 AM and waited for about 15 minutes. He was surprised to see the line (even though I told him there would be).

I went at 2 PM after I got out of work and was done voting in about 5 minutes. It was cute - a lot of parents brought their kids. One little girl, about 7, was telling her mom "I am so excited Mom, I can't wait to vote!". So cute. And those types of comments make me excited that this whole process is making a big impression on children. That they will remember this and look forward to being able to vote when they turn 18.

The campus was pretty energized today. Every student I spoke with today had already voted in some form (and this was before 2 PM). Most, if not all, of the staff in my building had voted on their way into work and had waited in line for anywhere between 15 minutes - 1 hour.
