For some reason in every town there are these two dudes that shoot/stab/crack the knees of people who were minding their own business (walking home from spending time from grandma, volunteering at a nursing home, etc.)
Gosh if only the cops could stop these two dudes, the ER wouldn't be so busy!Loving wife of neurosurgeon

MMOB was used on charts all the time when DH was a med student in North Philly. Everyone is always "MMOB" when they get shot.Angie

Those are always the best stories! I loved it when DH and all our friends in med school would tell them! Those poor innocent bystanders..

DH's phrases, in addition to the "Dos Dudes" excuse:
LGFD: "Looks good from the door"--someone who has not been given a particularly close review (the residents are busy, and they poke their heads in, essentially to check that the patient has crumped)
FFDUB: "Found Face Down Under Bridge"--they actually write this in their H&P notes. It happens THAT often!
Can't kill dirt--the explanation offered for why the crack-addicted scumbag patient who himself was been shot in the course of commiting a felony homicide (where he's killed some innocent person) survives and thrives, while the devoted mother-of-seven dies at 35 from a freak neuro incident. Especially when she's the person who the scumbag shot (before getting shot himself).

Does anyone have a good alternative term for "pimped"? I just cringe when DH says it-- especially, say for example when we are in a COFFEE SHOP and OTHER innocent people can hear him, people who may not understand why he's so ready to "get pimped."
"Grilled" or "examined" doesn't quite seem to cover it, but we need to find something more appropriate for polite company!

Then he switched to Path, which didn't make for any better meal conversation ("I had 2 breasts and a foot today. What's that sound you ask? It's the bone saw."), but at least had better hours.
