  • so, how's your weather?

Here in South Texas, it's actually pretty nice outside- 68 and sunny.

However, you can't breathe when you ARE outside due to the Mountain Cedar blowing in from the Hill Country to our north. Holy Moly. I got out of the shower today and noticed that familiar cough/sinus thing. Sure enough, the pollen count is 'Heavy'. It's the worst part of winter in South Texas. There was a video out of Austin that showed the trees blowing and there was so much pollen coming off of them that they looked like they were on fire.

I got into my car today and washed the windows- and the washer fluid and thick layer of pollen made a paste on my window. Ewww.

The dogs wanted to stay outside today because it was so nice but I bet they'll both be itchy and miserable when I get home.

I think I'd rather have snow.

Snowing on top of ice, wind blowing the snow, icy streets. About 18 degrees F. School got out early and will start late tomorrow. I'm home, safe and warm with kiddos, and hoping DH will get home safe and maybe a bit early too. AHHHH Winter in the Midwest!

Freaking awesome in sunny Florida! We went to the Farmer's Market yesterday and the park today. The kids were in shorts.

I think it is mid to high 70's.

It was dark and gloomy most of the day, there were even a few rumbles of thunder around 9 AM. But the sun came out around 1 PM, yay! It's in the low 60's, unusual for this time of year. Tomorrow it will be back in the 40's and right now they are calling for snow on Friday and Saturday. And by snow, I mean rain (okay, it could be snow, but I won't hold my breath).

I saw the sun!!! It was a teacher in-service day and I went down to lunch and the sun came out and I actually said, "ITS THE SUN!" I'm sure the other teachers thought I was nuts. Its been rainy and stormy mostly so a few minutes of sun was just heavenly. Its been 60 degrees today. I am not even going to look at the weather for the rest of the week because I really don't want to know. I am just enjoying the now.

Yup, I barely remember the sun, but so far--knock on wood--we're having a pretty mild winter. Had both kids out in the stroller today, which is necessary for my sanity.

And after last year's extra cold, extra long winter, thank goodness! I was dreading getting through this last winter here.

Blowing snow, cold and windy. Yay!!! Dh had major clinic cancellations and came home early. I love those kinds of surprises. It turned my day around.

We have a storm coming in that is supposed to bring snow tonight, but it will be melted by tomorrow afternoon and we will be in the mid 30s to low 40s and sunny the rest of the week. Typical for this time of year.

Today we had a freaky warm day at 67. Tons of hard rain all morning, but lots of sun late in the afternoon. It felt SO good to walk with the baby again.
