Yes, he's home. And, having worked a 15 hour day with lots of suicidal patients, he's one grumpy PITA. I had to beg him to our safe space and then he complained for 45 minutes about being cramped and hungry while the babies slept in my arms. Now he's annoyed that K2 is in our bed.Wife and #1 Fan of Attending Adult & Geriatric Psychiatrist.

MrsK, I am SO happy to hear that you guys are alright! I'm sorry K2 wasn't feeling well and that DrK was a PITA.
We put the weather on last night briefly for the local forecast and I saw the supercell on the radar near your locale. I got a huge pit in my stomach thinking of you, but was hopeful for the best knowing you were hanging out in the basement all day.
Glad that the OK peeps are alright too! My cousin in Stillwater had gone to her safe space on campus with her kitties last night.Event coordinator, wife and therapist to a peds attending

We're fine. DrK was so tired after his long call day; I really think his judgment was impaired. I didn't want to be a freaking out, hysterical nag so I just calmly made requests and picked my battles but for Pete's sake. I couldn't even persuade him to put on his pants, grab his wallet, get in the storm shelter, and help protect the kids. He kept stalling and asking "do we gotta..." As in, "do the kids have to stay in the basement with us?" (!) Then once we were in the shelter and listening to the radio tracking the storm and referencing our street (!), he was whining about how he "needed" to get a Coke. This morning, he was so anxious to get back to the hospital that I had to practically hold him down to stop him from going out on the (possibly impassable) roads before sun up. Residency/call makes people totally irrational. Only 17 months to go.Wife and #1 Fan of Attending Adult & Geriatric Psychiatrist.

Glad your friend is alright v-girl. Glad you're family is alright too MrsK. That could be a funny residency story to look back on when the 17 months is up.
I hope everyone remains safe.PGY4 Nephrology Fellow

For anyone with an iPhone, you can now get Weather Radio for free (usually $9.99, I think). http://ftpcontent.worldnow.com/kwtv/...dio9Mobile.htm Follow the directions to get a redemption code. I wish I'd known about this before buying an actual weather radio a few weeks ago.Cristina
