Same here. I liked the Vampire Chronicles, but thought the Mayfair witches and Lasher were fascinating.

I read them at the urging of my daughter. Great mindless fun, not well written in the least but fun just the same. Best part is the great conversations that have come out if it with dd.

I agree with Tara. They were a lot of fun to read, and I don't buy young adult fiction expecting literary genius. I can imagine some really interesting conversations.

I'm team Edward. I don't know why though. I Have read one book but seen the movies.

I read the Anne rice books. They were spooky....

We just finished watching "Eclipse" last night. DD is still Team Jacob, and so is DH. I'm the only Team Edward in my house! LOL

I think that having read the books it's a little easier to like Edward more. The movies are biased. Everyone loves an underdog! That's Jacob... But then Edward is a little too much like a Daddy figure to Bella. A little too mature.

Really looking forward to watching the next movie-- I wonder how they are going to deal with all that wierdness in book 4. Kate said that book had a little bit too wierd of a twist... I have to agree.

Yeah, I can't believe they're making it into two movies. You'd think they'd just want to get it over with quickly... It's going to be all kinds of creepy/weird.

Yes! But I still did read the Twilight series and enjoyed it, though they can never compare to an Anne Rice book.

Maybe I was too young when I read Anne Rice (teenager), but I found them to be very creepy. Too creepy for me!

Totally agree. In the books Jacob seemed too immature, but in the movies it played out to opposite effect. Maybe because in the movie Jacob does hot and flirty so well and Edward is just kind of creepy? Whatever, I'm still loyal to Edward. I'm sure in real life vampires are much more attractive; you just can't capture the sparkly charm on camera.

Thank you! I can't believe all these girls are crazy about this nerdy white Englishman.

**I'm not saying all Englishman are nerdy or white, just that he epitomizes that look. If all Englishmen looked like Daniel Craig, we'd have to revisit that whole Revolutionary War nonsense and reconnect with our fellow Englishmen. Often.

I just watched these movies in reverse order. I'm team Jacob all the way. However, I can relate to Edward too. I think he represents our inner struggle to control physical appetites and impulses with our heads and hearts. I think that is where his character relates to so many people.

Also, he was way hotter than Jacob in the book.
(At least, that was my impression...)
