Fall here is the best season!

the smell of freshly roasted peppers for sale outside the grocery stores
wildflowers that suddenly take off blooming
the smell of fresh-cut pine as dead trees are cleared out for firewood

Back home, spring is the best season, but I will miss the fall here.

oh, and of course no matter where we are - watching football with DH and teaching the kids to cheer for the right teams

It's 95 here so I won't think about fall until late November. That's when the leaves finally start to turn.

Apparently there is a pretty good place to check out fall foliage near you:

We'll have to go check it out! I am heading back to the East Coast for a business trip in October so hopefully we'll see some color. Here they just turn brown.

I love fall. I wish it was always fall... but then again, maybe I wouldn't appreciate it as much then.

I love the colors. There is this one parkway here that during the fall is just breathtaking. Its what made my day every day I drove to and from work last fall.

I love the weather. Fall has a smell. When you go outside and its not hot or cold, but just right with a breeze and there is this smell that goes with it... Ok, you might be thinking I am nuts here, but I love it.

Its also the time when the Jewish holidays start, so for me, its a time of family and thanksgiving. You have the new year, then you have Sukkot, which is a holiday where you get to eat outside in a "hut" and enjoy the wonderful seasonal weather. Then my favorite holiday Simchat Torah comes along with lots of singing and dancing. After that comes the American Thanksgiving, which is just more yummy eating, giving thanks, and family time.

Its just for me, the best time of the year.

What is this "fall" you speak of? Like Jenn, we won't be seeing any type of fall until about mid-November. But I do love the idea of fall and the fact that our winter is everyone elses fall.

Yes, but you could bake cakes on your porch with your summers!!

LOL! Yes, that is how we save energy in the summer (which lasts for at least half of the year, heehee).

I absolutely love fall and winter. The colors, the holidays, all the food and festivities. You know how you hear about people being more depressed in the winter? I am the complete opposite. I don't really like the summer but my mood goes through the roof once I start seeing Halloween decorations in the stores. I am so excited that my fav time of the year is almost here!!

Fresh apples off of our tree. I found out last weekend that they are macintoshes. They don't taste anything like the macs in the stores. DELISH. I put up about 20 jars of homemade applesauce, lots of them in 1 cup jars so I can take them in my lunch easily.
