We are pro-rice cooker too. It's one of our most used appliances. Not so, the pasta maker. We used that mostly to cut play dough when the kids were little.

Our rice cooker is one of our most used appliances, too. Works well for lentils and quinoa, as well.

I had to take a day off from the satanic P90X. I was so sore that I couldn't walk up and down our stairs, even grasping onto the hand rails and putting as little pressure on my ridiculously out-of-shape thighs as possible. Plyometrics Man, you suck balls and can kiss my fat, pasty ass.

And yeah... I'm back on the wagon today. We'll see which muscle group is unusable tomorrow.

Add slate tile in the kitchen to the list. It's beautiful, yes, and you won't slip on it when it's wet. But it's dark, textured tile, which means that every bit of dirt & food gets stuck in the crevices, and it NEVER looks clean, even when my mom got on hands and knees to scrub the whole thing with a scrub brush. It needs to be sealed. Again... it can probably wait 8 months.
I think the landlords are reading... After I posted this yesterday, I got a call today from the new agency who has taken over management of the rental. At the owners' request, they want to "check the roads", see if any weatherproofing needs to be done, and become familiar with the place since the agency guy is new. I guess I'll be cleaning those chandeliers in the next few days after all. *sigh* I figure it's reasonable to let them do the tile-sealing if they choose, though.

LOL, did you come to my garage sale? I bought our rice cooker from a med student that moved (brand new at her garage sale) than when we moved the following year, I sold it at our garage sale for $1.00 brand new!
I had SOME really good intentions of adding rice to my diet.

PediPaws dog nail trimmer. My dogs wouldn't let me get within ten feet of them with that thing. I can't blame them.

Ha! No, ours wasn't brand-new when we got it, and we got it *years* ago.

I might have to agree with you if I vaccum this weekend and it doesn't pick anything up. DH cleaned everything out of it too, so we shall see...

I'm curious why you didn't like it. We found that it works great, BUT it's easy to get overzealous with it and leave a bald spot.

Wildfin: have you used the EasyWalk harness? It works great on our pit bull. But I have seen it on other dogs and the owners have it on wrong! The leash clip goes on the chest, in the front....not on the back like a regular harness. Then when the dog starts to pull, you give a short, sharp correcting tug, and it pitches their weight forward and down....if the dog is pulling hard enough and you correct quickly and hard, then the dog can end up doing a nose dive into the ground and falling off her feet. It's rather funny to see. Most don't test it more than once. Even my mom can walk Pula with the harness and my mom is afraid of "big dogs."
