I'm curious why you didn't like it. We found that it works great, BUT it's easy to get overzealous with it and leave a bald spot.

The Furminator just doesn't seem to cut it with my double-coated boys. Doesn't even put a dent into a blowing coat. We just have a K-9 III airblower that does the work in a quarter of the time, to the fullest.

Wildfin: have you used the EasyWalk harness? It works great on our pit bull. But I have seen it on other dogs and the owners have it on wrong! The leash clip goes on the chest, in the front....not on the back like a regular harness. Then when the dog starts to pull, you give a short, sharp correcting tug, and it pitches their weight forward and down....if the dog is pulling hard enough and you correct quickly and hard, then the dog can end up doing a nose dive into the ground and falling off her feet. It's rather funny to see. Most don't test it more than once. Even my mom can walk Pula with the harness and my mom is afraid of "big dogs."

Michele, I'll look into it. Our puppy knows how to heel, but "it's soooooo hard, Mom!"
We've tried all kinds of things, but to no avail. Thanks for the input

Pula never learned to heel...she can sit, lay down, crawl, come and dance. She does it off leash too....but she can not heel. As a puppy, she was way too excitable and interested in other things....and I haven't had the time to train her since she's gotten older.

Oh, the furminator is DEFINITELY not for huskies, especially blowing coat. We love it for our cat, though!

Wow. We love he Furminator. Our malamute blows his undercoat 2-3 times a year and it's the only thing we've found that can handle it without driving him insane. He absolutely *hates* being brushed.

Our shepherd loves it too, not so much the lab (but he likes to be moving all. the. time.).

Both of my dogs love the Furminator- although with Petey you could be there for 6 hours and it would still be coming off. Honey does NOT like it used on her Spectacular Tail though- we have to use a baby brush for the ST. Neither cat likes it- they both prefer the regular wire brush. Darla has some old lady bumps so I have to be extra gentle with her anyway.

Heehee, we traded our Toyota in for a Ford and couldn't be happier.

Ford must be doing something right. They are the only US auto company to not take the TARP money and they posted a huge profit last quarter and will be out of debt by the end of the year or the 1st quarter at the latest.

They have a better design team for one- and they jettisoned their extraneous brands sooner. I really like the Fusion hybrid but the Yaris is paid off so I LOVE it.
