My aunt always ironed all of her husband's dress shirts for years and taught me how to do it with a little acronym: CYCLE! It is the order in which you iron the shirt: Collar Yoke (the part on the back between the shoulders near the collar) Cuffs Length (arms of the shirt) and Everything else (front and back of shirt). It makes it a little easier, in that the things you iron first don't really wrinkle while you are ironing the parts that do! She also ironed 6 shirts/week, so that he had a choice every day for what to wear. And I thought the acronym would be appropriate for you, since you and your DH like to bicycle.

This is so weird, but I love walking through old cemeteries. I find them very peaceful. My grandparents owned one when I was little and I associate them with fond memories of my grandma. I used to spend most of my summers with them and we were always out at the cemetery. My sister and I used to roller-skate in the mausoleum, which I'm fairly certain means we're going to hell.

on the relaxation and sense of control note, I like to do jigsaw puzzles. I don't know what it is about a 2000 piece puzzle in front of me and just getting the pieces in the right place that gives me that sense of having some kind of peace of mind.

Oh, I LOVE to shower, particularly as it gets colder because it is one of the only things that warms me up. This probably sounds crazy but the inability to shower when you have a baby is probably one of the things that scares me most about having kids. Really, I can't imagine not washing my hair at least once a day....

I also love jigsaw puzzles, pretty sure they fall into that "control = calm" thing for me, that and crossword puzzles.

I have a baby and I've never missed my shower. I'll skip meals, forego sleep, and shower with the baby but I always get my shower.

I also shower in the dark early in the morning. Who needs to wake up?

I'm another spreadsheet junkie. I have spreadsheets for everything because they give me a sense of control. DCJenn was spot on when she said that all the spreadsheets in the world won't be of any help after a certain point in the Match process, but I'm still clinging to mine for now.

I like steaming my work clothing (and even DH's).
I also enjoy cooking (without anyone else in the kitchen) - I spend more time on slowly cutting up ingredients, and I have to clean as a I go. Following the instructions is very cathartic for me.
Now that I'm pregnant, I rub my belly softly in circles, which has the ability to calm me down very quickly if I'm stressed. I never knew it could be so soothing for me to have a bump!

Me too. Sometimes more than one time a day too! Showers are stress relief for me. I'll take the baby with me, but I will shower!

I love to wake up while DH is in the shower and listen to the rhythm of the shower water in the quiet darkness, under the covers. It is a memory from my childhood. My bedroom backed up against my parents' shower. Every morning, I used to wake up to the sound of a waterfall. I thought it was so soothing.

I love counting down. Counting down anything really... But usually just the good stuff. That might be the long distance relationship in me.

And I also love to wake up before all the kids, make myself a cup of tea, put on one little light and sit on the couch in silence sipping my tea. Great way to start the day!

It's a steamer by Jiffy. DH bought it on Amazon - it is the bomb diggity! No drips, excellent flow, heats up quickly: it's a stand steamer (*swoon*).
I love that my ironing has mostly been replaced by steaming!
