This is so weird, but I love walking through old cemeteries. I find them very peaceful. My grandparents owned one when I was little and I associate them with fond memories of my grandma. I used to spend most of my summers with them and we were always out at the cemetery. My sister and I used to roller-skate in the mausoleum, which I'm fairly certain means we're going to hell.

on the relaxation and sense of control note, I like to do jigsaw puzzles. I don't know what it is about a 2000 piece puzzle in front of me and just getting the pieces in the right place that gives me that sense of having some kind of peace of mind.-L.Jane

I also love jigsaw puzzles, pretty sure they fall into that "control = calm" thing for me, that and crossword puzzles.

I also shower in the dark early in the morning. Who needs to wake up?
I'm another spreadsheet junkie. I have spreadsheets for everything because they give me a sense of control. DCJenn was spot on when she said that all the spreadsheets in the world won't be of any help after a certain point in the Match process, but I'm still clinging to mine for now.Cristina

I like steaming my work clothing (and even DH's).
I also enjoy cooking (without anyone else in the kitchen) - I spend more time on slowly cutting up ingredients, and I have to clean as a I go. Following the instructions is very cathartic for me.
Now that I'm pregnant, I rub my belly softly in circles, which has the ability to calm me down very quickly if I'm stressed. I never knew it could be so soothing for me to have a bump!Wife to Family Medicine attending, Mom to DS1 and DS2

I love to wake up while DH is in the shower and listen to the rhythm of the shower water in the quiet darkness, under the covers. It is a memory from my childhood. My bedroom backed up against my parents' shower. Every morning, I used to wake up to the sound of a waterfall. I thought it was so soothing.

I love counting down. Counting down anything really... But usually just the good stuff. That might be the long distance relationship in me.
And I also love to wake up before all the kids, make myself a cup of tea, put on one little light and sit on the couch in silence sipping my tea. Great way to start the day!

It's a steamer by Jiffy. DH bought it on Amazon - it is the bomb diggity! No drips, excellent flow, heats up quickly: it's a stand steamer (*swoon*).
I love that my ironing has mostly been replaced by steaming!Wife to Family Medicine attending, Mom to DS1 and DS2
