AN UPDATE!!

So... here's the skinny!

Initially I was going to call the group-- HIPA (Housestaff/Intern Partners Association). Matt helped me, but there is too much confusion with HIPAA which is the new Health Information Privacy Act, and it has caused a lot of headaches for the residents here. It was funny at the time.

So...I ended up going with my second choice UW Medical Partners.

I asked the Housestaff President if we could combine the Welcoming BBQ, put on by the UW Housestaff, and an announcement of UW Medical Partners. She thought it would be a great idea! The BBQ is still in the planning stages, and it will be announced soon as to when it will be. I am hoping to be there, as I am expecting a baby soon.

It's starting to take ground.

I'm still nervous, and can't believe I am doing this. I guess I am forcing myself way out of my comfort zone.

UPDATE!!!

So I found out that a group already exists, but the word has not been spread very well mainly due to advertising falling onto the shoulders of the program coordinators/admins.

I went to my first meeting, and the organizer is excited about some of the ideas I have.

I am going to ask him about including medical students as well. I think he would be for it.

I know that Elesa, and Chris said they are interested. Are you guys still? We are putting together an email and mailing list as to keep track of who is interested. If there are any UW spouses out there feel free to private message me.
