It wasn't until residency that I appreciated the fact that no one in DHs program is on here.

In med school I passed the site on to others but I think chat boards take some time to get used to.

Now in residency I haven't shared the site, but I am way more careful what I write knowing that it only takes 100 posts for someone at his program to see what I'm talking about. I too like that y'all understand but it won't get back to anyone local.

I have ALWAYS told/tell others. If I suspected there were folks on here I wouldn't want privy to things I might post about, then I'll just utilize PMs & send out to several recipiants. I found this site after realizing that attendinghood just added more marital challenges! I am really proud of those that have made it here & share; so healthy. I have a friend that is so tightly wound and NEEDS,@ the very least, the type of support/sympathetic ear a place like this provides. She hasn't made her way here...she has for years dumped on me ... a I no longer enable her! I told her "therapy or @ the very least iMSN."

This is us too. We know many attendings in these cities who are married to another doc or single. Very few of them have kids and if they do, they have one child under six.

IMSN is like Santa to DH - until last year, he was skeptical. But when the cards and cookies started showing up, and he saw that people exist and have names and faces, he believed.
I think Pollyanna's peppermint bark this year made him a "super believer"

Same here, but he has really come to respect it and takes the advice I get seriously.

As for other med spouses, I've mentioned it to others in my program, but most barely even get on Facebook, so I don't think it will happen. I "met" MaskedRose on TheKnot and she has posted a few times...

The biggest person that could probably use this is my mother-in-law, but I really just don't want to share. I love her to death, but I'm not sure she would understand the "vibe" very quickly. She takes things very seriously and literally. Lord help me if she ever does find it--I'm going to need to do a lot of deleting!

Please, please, please do not start inviting our MILs to iMSN. I'd have to move to another country.

Oh, don't worry, I wont She technically is a medical spouse, though.

I felt awful for her during Christmas mass. The priest mentioned my FIL by name and related it to being like Jesus, etc. because he helps people, is always nice, etc...dude is an oncologist. She didn't seem anything but proud, but how fun is it to always be in the background while someone else get's the glory. Especially since she was an oncologist too.
