The dentist didn't even bring up the possibility of getting one from her.

It was a strange visit but the hygienist was excellent.

Mouth guard owner here. Got it from the dentist. You really need proper fit IMHO. Otherwise, you will not wear it as you should. At first, mine felt like it cut on one side of my tongue. I rarely used it. It was not until I mentioned it to the dentist and he filed that area that I started wearing it more often. I still hate to wear it because I sometimes drool - hey, at least I know I am not clenching - right?
Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

I have totally felt the teeth grinding the last couple nights-- my jaw is clenched when I wake up, etc.

Anyway I have an awesome f/u with my dentist regarding my poor flossing habits (rant-- I DO floss and take care if my teeth whereas dh doesn't, and my gums are in bad shape. It's just genetics. Booooh. Dh gets only 1s and 2s on his gym measurement thing. Makes me so mad!!!). I will ask about custom fit mouth guards there.

Peggy, that's me too (gum-wise)! My gums are awful, and I have some pretty darn good oral hygiene habits...when me new dentist told me it was genetic, it at least made me feel better!

Good luck...sore mouths are the worst.
I'm just trying to make it out alive!
