I think I will have DH meet the peeps down the street at the City Hall and ask for cash. Hopefully, he won't be duped like his brother. ... I was so worried about buying a car, but it was so easy. We used an A/Z plan, which sets a price almost at dealer invoice price. No haggling, it's all done by the computer!

Holy crap! DH put a listing on Craigslist last night and already has 30 replies! He thinks he only needs to sign over the title, but should he do more?

It depends on your state, google it. When we sold our car in CA we had to create a bill of sale, both parties had to sign it and then we had to send it in to the DMV to transfer the tags because you don't keep your tags when you sell a car there. In addition to signing over the title.

I would CYA with a bill of sale signed by both parties with amount of transaction, contact info, "as is" clause etc. Google it and find a free form and print it out.
