Can someone post a sample of what they are doing? If I get an idea of what you want, I can do Princeton.

This is what I did for the Flat Stanley we did for somebody on here in '09. For the one that just came around I just modified it accordingly.

Welcome to Rochester, Minnesota! We are the Milligan’s. Brian is a resident in training to be a brain doctor or neurosurgeon, Cheri is a stay at home mom to Adele who is just over a year old. We also have a 4 1/2 year old beagle Molly. We are originally from Kansas but have lived in Minnesota for 4 1/2 years.

Rochester is the 3rd largest city in Minnesota. Rochester is the home to Mayo Clinic and to one of IBM’s largest US facilities. 30 miles away in Austin, MN is the SPAM museum and Hormel’s national headquarters. The corn water tower which we sent on the postcard is said to be the largest ear of corn in the world. One unique thing about Rochester is that much of the downtown is connected by an above ground skyway or underground walking subway system. While Flat Josh was here we visited the Rochester Public Library and took his picture with the Flat Stanley book. While doing this we walked over a mile indoors in the subway and skyway system.

Rochester is very close to Iowa, less then an hour away and very close to Wisconsin, just over an hour away. Yet it would take over eight hours to get to the northern edge of Minnesota. The most northern part of Minnesota is also known as the Northwest Angle, which also happens to be the only part of the contiguous 48 states that lies north of the 49th parallel.

While Flat Josh was here it was -25 with a wind chill of -52 on January 15, 2009. On that day it was colder in Rochester then in International Falls, MN known as the icebox of the country. It was also colder then it was in Alaska that day. This has been our coldest January in almost ten years and we have broken several single day low temperature records.

While here Flat Josh visited the world famous Mayo Clinic. The Mayo Clinic treats 520,000 patients a year and has treated such famous patients as President Ronald Regan, President George H.W. Bush, and King Hussein of Jordan.

Minnesota is also known for landmarks like the Mall of America which is just over an hour north of Rochester. Minnesota is the Gopher State and is also known as the land of 10,000 lakes.

Enjoy your trip around the country, it was fun having you in Rochester.

ETA: And you then add pictures or maps, etc. as requested and then usually send a postcard to the school while the Flat Stanley goes on to someone else.

I just got the Flat Stanley in the mail today. I'll work on it this weekend and probably mail it out on Monday or Tuesday next week. Who wants it next?

I did a blurb about how what "remember the Alamo" means, (most politically correct version) and always add in all of the kid friendly attractions in San Antonio.

It says on the instruction page if you receive the Flat Stanley after May 1, to send it back to the school. So I'm thinking we can probably get 2 more peeps in before it goes back.

My second grader just got assigned with this and needs an address by tomorrow. (!!) Is anyone willing to send her Flat Stanley back? The school also suggested that we might send it to someone famous...riiiiight. They'll get it back never.

                              TIA!!!
