I am with SoonerT here. I am still a nanny. I work with two different families. One in the AM and another in the PM. In the AM they live in an apartment and the only phone they have is in the parents bedroom. They don't want me having my phone out/on while I am there so I have to answer their phone just in case they call. I hate having to go into their bedroom to answer it. I always feel like I am invading personal space. At the afternoon job I have NEVER been in their bedroom. The one time the little girl wandered in there I asked her to come out immediately so we could go play. I nanny with the idea that there is a nanny cam watching me at all times and behave as I would like to be seen on it. Maybe I am overly paranoid and a goody two shoes, but I don't want to mess up a good gig for doing something stupid like going through their stuff. I even feel bad when I eat a granola bar without their permission after they have offered it on several other occasions.

I wouldn't worry about it either. When I was a sitter I only went in the parents room if they said the kids could play in there. After they went to bed I would look around the house but I never opened drawers or snooped other than looking at stuff that was out in the open. Like others I would just make it clear not to go in there but it seems innocent enough to me.
