DD1 had a blast yesterday. Her French teacher went all out so the kids learned how various MG traditions have French roots (duh, but they're teenagers in a small city so I can see why she'd point that out), various symbolism, and food. Kids got to try king cake, beignets, jambalaya, and red beans & rice. DD1 loves her French class.

My southern friends (who made red beans and rice) informed me that they don't like king cake. So it was not part of our little get-together last night, and I have still never tried it.Julia - legislative process lover and general government nerd, married to a PICU & Medical Ethics attending, raising a toddler son and expecting a baby daughter Oct '16.

So, someone brought half a king cake into my office. I'm fasting for Ash Wednesday and won't be trying it, but Crystal, apparently you can get them at King Soopers.Julia - legislative process lover and general government nerd, married to a PICU & Medical Ethics attending, raising a toddler son and expecting a baby daughter Oct '16.
