So Chad and I have them, and they rock! I'm playing on mine now. I found an app/program last night that allows us to access our home computers which are PCs so that we can log into our EMRs from any Internet connection. This will make it easier for Chad to chart from anywhere as well as approve medication requests and all sorts of things. I use it as book reader, for Facebook, iMSN, Netflix, lots of stuff!

Kris, I still don't expect much. I really wish he was charting right now, but he's sleeping and has to round on a patient tonight.

I'm wishing mine had more features...like a camera, and the ability to plug in a headset and use it as a phone. (I very rarely use my phone to actually talk, so this would work for me ) Texting would be great too. Basically I want the iPad to be everything for me. Do you have netflix? I use their app to stream tv shows and movies to the ipad, as well as books. Our library has tons of ebooks that can be downloaded on everything BUT a kindle, so there's that too.

I refuse to get sucked in by Fruit Ninja!! Angry Birds was bad enough. I had to just get rid of it, lol.
An MD interviewed with M's group, and said there was a hospital that he trained at where the MDA (anesthesiologists) had IPads for keeping tabs on patients, writing order, etc. Dh's hospital has switched to electronic system, and they all have these little notepads.

I haven't made the leap over to the IPad. Heck I am still using my 5 year old flip cell phone. :P If Apple releases the IPhone 5 this summer, Dh said he'll jump on board.
