My friend's name was Buglione - Boo-glee-oh-nee. Close, but I have no idea how to write out how gli sounds in Italian since we have NOTHING that is close in English. It is more similar to the LL in Spanish or LH in Portuguese.Kris

As tongue-twisted as our last name is, it's actually a somewhat simplified version. Also, DH, his brother and his parents all have different spellings courtesy of the immigration officials.
Russian has a sound that's same as "gli" so it's funny when I can pronounce some Italian menu items more correctly than American waiters.
