My fellow flute player in the church choir was great fun last night at practice. Nothing extraordinary, but we've had our ups and downs, so it's nice to be friends.

I've had two compliments in two days by the big boss, which he rarely passes out. Woohoo!

I went to the dentist and the receptionist watched and rocked a screaming N while I had a chipped tooth fixed and was very happy to do it. The office also sent us a baby gift when she was born.

BabyK is such a little PERSON these days. Yesterday, we went to Pump It Up. He was super-awesome navigating the big slide (about 20 feet) and obstacle course (including a 7' climbing wall) with hardly any help. Then we went to Wendys and shared a frosty. He was so sweet, saying "Thank you, Mommy!" After every spoonful. I love when he says thank you and means it.

I think I have finally made a real friend in this town - you know, the kind that will have your back regardless yet cares for you enough to tell you truths that only make you a better person? It only took me 3.5 yrs.
Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

We have a patient who is very mean, difficult to talk to or reason with. The receptionist and our nurse really hate to deal with her. She has an old brain injury, and today I spent 10 minutes explaining why she can't necessarily control her behavior because of where her brain injury is located. I was amazed at how well her visit went today, and the staff seemed to tolerate her behavior and not take it personally!!!!

I feel so fortunate with how Amanda's school has been treating her and by the amount of help she has already gotten in her classes. I love that even though we just started there that they are so accomodating and welcoming.

In other happy news, Kelly bought a ticket today to come and visit me in March ... and I'm so excited already to hang out!

On my first day at my new job, I got several compliments from the people I will be working with. They said that I was picking up and retaining the information about their systems and data very quickly. Especially compared to the other person they hired to work on the same project.

The teacher who does private lessons for Maggie gave Ella her first private lesson today (it was a shared lesson with another girl from her class). After the lesson, she told me how much better Ella (and Kate -- the other girl) were doing by the end of the hour!

It's been raining/storming since yesterday evening! We need rain so badly! Hoping the lakes are filling up a lot (one near us is down 6ft).
