I ... really needed to read this today. Thanks guys. I'm adding this to my "folder of positives" (don't ask).
The real truth (and I know I've said it before) is that you all are this community and I am f*ing grateful every day (even when I'm just lurking) for the the friendships that I've made here. You are an incredible group of people and I am blessed to know you.
Very grateful for all the hours of work and time you've put into the this site Kris! I know my life is better because of this site. Thank you Kris and thank you everyone for all the support over the years!!

Completely agree to everything said above. Would never made it through residency with my sanity somewhat preserved if it wasn't for this site. And I'll be forever grateful to everyone who has solidified my decision to talk DH out of a surgical specialty.
You know how grateful I am for your friendship, Kris. You and I have been through a LOT together; please don't hesitate to call me if you need anything, okay?? Love you tons!!

Yesterday, my FIL was in a baaaad car accident. Living in podunkville, they could not care for him and he was going to have to be taken to a city where they have neurosurgeons. As soon as I was told the name of the hospital I called vgirl because I knew her DH worked at that hospital and I wanted nearby hotel recs, patient family support info., etc. Surprising my podunk city does have neurosurgeons and he was flown here instead. Still, it was so comforting to have that contact in a city that I did not know. If there was no IMSN, our paths would have never crossed for my DH is in a totally different specialty than Vgirls...yet, another reason why I heart IMSN.
Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

He is in surgery. Prognosis is good. Thanks for asking...reason why I think IMSN is BETTER than sliced bread. Heck, they could have been vacationing across the country and I am pretty sure that there would have been a med spouse that was in the know and would have helped. Too bad I can't reciprocate because I live in a place where no one wants to visit.

I totally second what MrsK said. I don't think I would have made it through the last couple years of residency without iMSN and really wish I'd found it earlier in the process. Unfortunately I can't second DrK's sentiments. My DH thinks you're all a figment of my imagination.
