I started posting around when DH started his IM residency 2 years ago....hard to believe he is a PGY3 in another month and a half!
We just had twin girls (spontaneous twins, don't run in our family either!) in January so our lives have definitely been topsy turvy especially with his crazy call schedule the last few months!
He is applying to endocrinology fellowships this July and interviews are late summer/fall....followed by the match in early December I believe. It is annoying that they moved match day for IM fellowships by 6 months. If not for that we'd be finding out a whole year in advance!
I am already SO nervous since I'm dying to get back to my home state closer to family and while DH is (so far) planning to rank that program really high, fellowship is so much harder to match in top picks since there are only a few spots. I really really hope to get to go back there so we can consider FINALLY settling down! Plus it would be nice to not half to travel all the time if we want to see family (only would need to travel to see his). If only I knew how all of this was going to play out......SO nervewracking!
To add to the stress of a big move at the end of next June, one of DH's older brothers is getting married the first week of July '13 (obviously not ideal timing for us).....in Spain. I honestly don't know how that is going to happen. And no way am I bringing two 17 month olds to Spain especially on a rushed trip IF we can even go. Plus money will be tight since I have been taking some time off working to take care of our little girls....
Anyways, hello again and hoping I can jump back in to this forum! Definitely could use some support as life has been SO crazy right now with 2 infants and a husband with a crazy schedule. I feel like a lot of my family doesn't get how rough this is for me/us!
