  • Lottery Tickets - Do you buy them?

I usually don't buy lottery tickets, but I did buy a Powerball ticket this week!!!

I am going to buy one tonight because I could really use the break...

I usually buy one when its gets super big like it is tonight but I didn't get one today and won't be going out tonight. The one nice thing about buying in KS is if you win you can claim it anonymously which is great because DH wouldn't quit and would KILL me if we won big!

I do when it is big, just for fun. DH always gives me a lecture about the probability. I don't care.

I also like to buy raffle tickets every so often.

DH always buys them when they get really high. And then he attempts to have discussions with me about what we would do with it. Eye roll.

I have really good luck when I buy raffle tickets.

I don't, but mainly because it's too much hassle for the probability. (It's a separate check out counter at my grocery store, and I almost never go inside a gas station because of all the work of getting the kids in and out of the car. Then I forget to check the numbers.) I actually enjoy scratch offs a lot more. I'm sure the probability is just as low, and the payoff isn't as much, but at least I have the fun of scratching off the glitter. I'm such a kid!

no way...my mom does on occasion & has always said if she hits it big then there will be 6 winners! (her & her 5 kids)...that works for me!

I NEVER gamble. I have political, philosophical, and cheapskate objections. But good luck, y'all!

                    I don't gamble. I'm too cheap.

Yup! It's fun to dream. I typically only buy when it's really high though. I hope I win tonight!

I always think of it when the jackpot is a number that I cannot imagine but then I forget. Did anyone see the Kiplinger's article (I think it was last month) about managing a windfall?

I've bought maybe 4 or 5 my whole life because I happened to tag along with coworkers who got them. It's just not my thing. I actually get really depressed seeing people at a casino or standing in line for lottery tickets. So many of them clearly don't really have the cash to spare and are just pissing it away.

We get holiday-themed scratch tickets to put in the family stockings; it's fun to spend a few minutes playing the scratch games; I think one of us won a few bucks last Christmas, and we never even redeemed it. Not big gamblers here.

Not normally. My dad's side of the family are big gamblers so they always buy.
