I usually buy one when its gets super big like it is tonight but I didn't get one today and won't be going out tonight. The one nice thing about buying in KS is if you win you can claim it anonymously which is great because DH wouldn't quit and would KILL me if we won big!Wife to NSG out of training, mom to 2, 10 & 8, and a beagle with wings.

I don't, but mainly because it's too much hassle for the probability. (It's a separate check out counter at my grocery store, and I almost never go inside a gas station because of all the work of getting the kids in and out of the car. Then I forget to check the numbers.) I actually enjoy scratch offs a lot more. I'm sure the probability is just as low, and the payoff isn't as much, but at least I have the fun of scratching off the glitter. I'm such a kid!Laurie

I always think of it when the jackpot is a number that I cannot imagine but then I forget. Did anyone see the Kiplinger's article (I think it was last month) about managing a windfall?Wife and #1 Fan of Attending Adult & Geriatric Psychiatrist.

I've bought maybe 4 or 5 my whole life because I happened to tag along with coworkers who got them. It's just not my thing. I actually get really depressed seeing people at a casino or standing in line for lottery tickets. So many of them clearly don't really have the cash to spare and are just pissing it away.

We get holiday-themed scratch tickets to put in the family stockings; it's fun to spend a few minutes playing the scratch games; I think one of us won a few bucks last Christmas, and we never even redeemed it. Not big gamblers here.Sandy
