Hot and Sour Soup or Chicken noodle soup or egg drop soup. Always soup, a broth-based soup. Tea and toast. That's about it.

In Texas my Mom used to make us chicken tortilla soup when we were sick and we'd also drink 7UP. My Dad would just have us eat Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup and I'd pick out the chicken chunks and also we'd have 7UP. In Egypt dh was raised to have home made vegetable soup and a coke when they're sick.

Now that I'm older and on my own I'll make some simple bouillon broth out of a cube or two and sip on that or dh will get me a can of vegetable soup like he did today because I'm not feeling too well. Kinda flu like.

I have a little cold and was just thinking about how much I miss living near a good Thai restaurant. Before we moved I would get Tom Kha Sot soup whenever I was sick--broth, coconut milk, lime, lemongrass, lots of spices, and some tofu and straw mushrooms. Yum!
