I think fall is finally here. I think last weekend was the last time we see 80 degrees for awhile. Ugh

I don't think that's in our area. Cascade mountain range area doesn't usually have named snow storms.

The weather channel has made the bizarre decision to name winter storms outside of national weather service oversight.

But you're right, it was too Far East to be Brutus

Oh, wow -- that seems like such a weird idea to name *all* storms. WTH, Weather Channel? I would think that would cause major confusion.

I read that other weather organizations are really ticked about this. Unlike hurricanes and tropical storms, winter storms don't have an obvious center, making them very difficult to define.

I would also think that in many snow-prone areas, it would be crazy making because they're not necessarily storms, just normal winter weather.

I finally had to go out last week and buy short boots. All of mine are tall and I think there might be 6 weeks when it's cool enough here to wear tall boots. I'm gonna miss them

It rained most of the day here, I am guessing well over an inch of much needed rain. But now the temps are dropping below freezing. Crazy, since yesterday I took the kids to the park to play in short sleeves, the temps were near 70. Nothing like a 40 degree swing in just over 24 hours.

Thank gawd, I'm a firm believer in natural consequences... Today, I told DS (who will be 10 next week) that it will be cold and that he should wear his winter coat, hat, gloves and the new shoes that his grandmother got him (they look like boots, but are shoes because they don't go over the ankle). He responded that they have gym today and he didn't want to. Off to school he went with nothing more than a heavy sweatshirt for outerwear. It is snowing like crazy outside and windy. Serves his smart ass right if he freezes during recess today.
