I need wood pallets to make a new compost bin. I know where to find them, but need to get someone to help me haul them as they don't really fit in my Rio.

My brother had a FL gator themed guest room. It was painted official gator colors -- orange and blue. Imagine an entire room painted gator orange.

When I was a child the grandma I was named after used to collect glass unicorns for me. It was something special between just us. When I became a teenager I purged them all. Since she passed away I sort of regret selling some of the pieces at garage sales that were special to me, but at the time I felt it was necessary and a rite of passage in letting go because I was growing up and too old for that. I still have some sentimental things my grandma gave me like a locket and a dancing porcelain figurine she bought in Germany when visiting my parents stationed there.

In my teenage years my mom started collecting me all things Paris like an Eiffel tower lamp, a small flower vase that said Paris on it, a set of ceramic plates, bowls and mugs that said Cafe Paris and had two ladies in large hats at a colorful cafe on it. The list goes on. I had a francophile thing since I took french in middle school and then two years of french in high school and everybody gave me presents surrounding french themed things. I've had several opportunities to go to France but it was never the right time so I still haven't been. As I grew older I also purged my life of all the french themed things and have forgotten most of the language I've learned. Though it comes back to me when I use it. I've found I can still read it and understand it with general ease but writing and speaking it doesn't come as easily because I was always intermediate never fluent.

When I was a young lady growing up I also collected coins, some stamps and pen pals. This was at the beginning of the internet era when snail mail was still the custom. My parents wouldn't let me on the internet much back then so I wrote letters to my friends in other States and foreign countries. I still have the letters to this day and I'm still in touch with my pen pals though we mostly communicate online and occasionally send letters and of course birthday and holiday cards to each other. In school I also seemed to collect foreign friends. I was attracted to learning about other countries and would quickly make friends with the foreign exchange students or anyone that was from somewhere else besides the United States. I loved learning about the world through them. We still stay in touch and all have plans to visit each other in our countries where ever we are when we have the money for the trip. For example we're all planning a trip to the Rio Summer Olympics in 2016.

There was a period in my life where I collected all things a certain shade of pink. I even had a pink themed 30th birthday party where every one came dressed in their favorite shade of it. That was a really fun party for me! Mostly I have pink kitchen stuff and then I found I went overboard with pink things where I became saturated with too much pink and I became sick of it. I loved just a certain shade of pink but people began giving me all shades of pink and it was too much. Now I'm slowly getting ride of the pink items and put a stop to receiving pink themed items. I'm also becoming more attracted the cheery color yellow. I haven't begun a collection of yellow things yet though. It's such a power color I don't want it to dominate my life but rather accent it. I learned my lesson from pink.

Other things I find interesting but don't feel compelled to actually manifest in my physical life I collect virtually on Pinterest boards such as Pandas, sugar skulls or day of the dead things, mermaids and nautical themed things.

Things that I naturally collect and seem a part of me because I use them a lot would be books, old electronics and oh yeah Christmas cards. I love Christmas cards! Well I love all snail mail correspondence really but mostly it comes in the form of cards these days instead of long handwritten letters. The majority are Christmas cards, but there are some birthday and some Valentine's. It depends on the person sending me the card and what holiday they're most attached to I think. Like my other grandma that is still alive will send me an antique Valentine's card every year. Also thanks to her I started antiquing and have begun a small collect of little antique jars to put flowers in on window sills around the house. My cousins started collected antique jeweled doorknobs because of their trips with grandma to the antique stores. My Mom collects antique spoons because of her trips with Grandma antiquing. It's interesting to see what we're all drawn to.

Having moved around a lot internationally in the last decade, I don't really collect any physical entities, however I do keep a fairly impressive digital collection of music and literature.

Me too! I had seal posters on my bedroom walls well into high school (nerd alert ). Now I have a too large collection of hooded sweat shirts. It was initially born of my inability to pack weather appropriate clothing for vacation but now it's just become a thing.

I used to collect snowmen until the word got out and people started buying me really ugly ones. Then I stopped.

E and I used to collect coffee cups everywhere we traveled. We had a great collection that was full of wonderful memories. He now has them.

That's how my mom's salt and pepper shaker collection happened She bought a couple cute ones and people thought she like that so now she has a whole collection because everyone kept giving them to her. I admit I was guilty of this, until in a conversation she happened to tell me she hadn't meant to collect them and really was apathetic to the collection.
This happened with me and elephants! My bff brought me a mama and baby back from Jersey Shore in 8 th grade, and next thing I knew, that's all I got from everyone as gifts, for YEARS. I saved a couple that I really liked. Currently, I collect Gorham sterling snowflake ornaments. My parents had a few when I was a kid, and they were so special. Christmas was one of the few happy times in the Hill household. so now I collect them, to pass the tradition to my kids.

We also have a small collection on antique books, and locally blown glass art.

Me too! I forgot about shoes.

Cinderella, those are nice collections and stuff I myself would have liked when young... unicorns, the French stuff, I also hold on to snail mail and postcards. The door knobs sound pretty cool tool. Do you like Damien Hirst? He made a diamond encrusted skull and I wondered who would like that?!

My mom makes fun of me saying I'm like a little old lady because I love teacups, serving tea, carried flowery handkerchiefs. I also prefer old books. I don't collect anything purposely though esp now that I have seen that show hoarders! I also love fascinators, berets and cocktail hats with little veils but I won't wear them out unless it's Halloween because I will just stand out and might look kinda weird.
