  • Couch shopping!!!

We are in the market for a new couch for our wonderful new house! We've looked at Pottery Barn, which we LOVE, and Lay-Z Boy which....seemed fine but nothing jumped out at me. Right now we are leaning toward the Pottery Barn Chesterfield, or the PB Comfort and possibly a mismatchy comfy chair or two.

Any other furniture store recs? We want something that will last and is good lookin.

Do you have Freed's? That's where we bought our sofa and the price and quality are great!

Dillard's, surprisingly, has a great selection.

Have you looked for a PB outlet? I know there are only 1 or 2 and I have no idea where they are but I know my sister has some great PB furniture that she got at the outlet for a fraction of the price.

Crate & Barrel also has furniture and several department stores, like Macy's sometimes have separate furniture stores.

Ok...that is a great idea. We actually have a PB outlet 2.5 hours from here, I think we'll go on Saturday. Narrowing down the choices and maybe getting a good deal would help me make a decision!

The furniture my sister has is near perfect, minor scratches, things that were easy to fix. And they got HUGE discounts on them because they won't sell it if its not perfect or been returned.

                Good luck!!

So fun! I loooove PB couches. They're excellent quality and so comfy. We also got a couch from clubfurniture.com that we were very happy with. SS, do you know if you have to arrange your own shipping from the outlet, or do they offer it?

I was going to ask the same thing about shipping.

                    Does this link work?

Which one? I kind of love the chesterfield, a lot...it's more pricey than the comfort though, which I also love. But they are such different couches.

I like both! Do you like the slipcovered look? I found that to be a lifesaver...(four kids=messes!!)

I know my sister bought a very large bedroom set and they had it delivered.

That is one of the reasons I was thinking of the Comfort. Because some of them you can just throw in the wash! hello!!! yes please!!! But I'm so worried about it looking slouchy and that I'll constantly be pulling on it. I can't tell if I would be doing that though, or if it would just look so pretty that I wouldn't have to.

I love love love the Chesterfield (especially in leather, someday!) and I think the Comfort may look slouchy. BUT I completely agree that the Comfort would be easier to keep clean (do you have pets? I can just imagine cat hair getting stuck in the indents on the Chesterfield, yuck) so maybe it's a better lifestyle fit... Do you have a Room & Board nearby? I pretty much adore everything they have. Our couch is one of their cheapest and still looks fab after 3-4 years and 2 cats.

oh Chesterfield in leather is so dreamy. I just don't like slipping around on leather, I do love to look at it though. We don't have pets, but we do have a 4 year old and a 1 year old...they are probably worse than pets. haha We would get it probably in the performance tweed, which they say is easy to clean...and I like that it has some texture. ugh..i love that couch so much. We will have some old ugly couches in the basement that (in our imagination) is where the kids will do most of their TV watching. However, in reality, I know the regular living room will get lots of love.
