T&S, do you recognize the area in the Twitter pictures? #Watertown has a ton of info flowing-- could be bogus, of course. Seems to be at a particular building that they think he's in. They are saying Quimby Street?

It's 1.5 miles from my best friend's parents and sister (with a 7 month old baby). And a coworker lives 2 apartment buildings down in Cambridge where these guys lived. They were evacuated immediately and indefinitely with only what they had when they answered the door.

I was trying to imagine what it would be like to have SWAT banging on my door as had to happen in this case. It's completely unimaginable. Praying there are no more casualties.

It's FUCKING freaky, I can tell you that. Apparently some dipshit is using my current address while evading the law after some nefarious activity in Florida (he may have lived here years ago). First I knew of it was stepping out of the shower (alone in the house) a few weeks ago to the doorbell ringing insistently and loud banging on both doors. I was ready to call 911 when I heard talking next door and saw a guy in a "SHERIFF" jacket talking to my neighbor. So I got dressed and went to the door, and by then, a whole bunch of cops were getting into their cars and leaving already. It took me half the day for the adrenaline to get back down to normal levels. I can only imagine if they'd actually broken in, rather than just knocking a lot. *shudder*

They're on the main drag in Watertown, they may have someone in custody but they freaked out and pushed the media back. I've been to that area so many times...it's so heavily populated. I hope this f**ker didn't hurt anyone in those houses.

Probably to ensure that there are no miscommuncation issues that could come back to bite them in the ass later in court. My guess is that this is going to be an extremely methodical interrogation.

They have had a lot of issues this morning with Twitter posting everything that's come across the scanners. They put the scanners on private access only and that quieted down. Seems like the scanner was being followed and rebroadcast online by 155,000 people. That can't have made things easier. There were pictures online repeatedly of areas that were being invaded, etc. Obviously, the suspect is following along and this can't be helpful.

The media pushback really shows the level of tension. The guy on MSNBC was on the ground because the officers had everyone lie down quickly at one point.

Yes. I hope he's surrendering. And that he rots. We know he'll rot in hell but I'd be ok if he rots first. MA doesn't have the death penalty though.

He won't last long in prison unless he is in solitary. And I'm okay with that too.

Hell, if I thought there was a way to do it, I'd love to see his assets seized and sold to help cover the costs borne by the taxpayers.

But the federal government does. They can come up with death-penalty-eligible federal charges--and prosecution of those will trump prosecution of state charges.
