Do you swear? If so, how much? Who, if anyone, do you not swear around?
Yes, often. I don't swear in front of children and my parents/grandparents/older aunts and uncles.

Do you use the bathroom in front of your spouse?
#1 always occurs with the door open. If the other person is in the bathroom, so be it. We've done it for years, long before we were married. #2, nope.

Women, do you always put on makeup or nice clothes to leave the house? If not how often do you?
I almost never wear makeup. Too lazy. When I do wear makeup, I only put on eye liner, shadow, and mascara. I almost always put on jeans to go out though I have been known to run to the store in sweatpants.

Do you eat meals that aren't at the table, such as in bed or in front of the tv? How often?
We never eat at our table. It's just DH and I so we eat at the coffee table in front of the TV. We only eat at the table if we have guests over. We do not eat in bed.

Would you rather watch polo/golf or NASCAR/football? Participate in?
The only one of those I would participate in or watch would be football.

Do you have fine china? How often do you use it?
Yep, we registered for china for our wedding. We've used it once in the almost 4 years we've been married.

What things about you are classiest? What about you is crude?
Classiest....ummmmm ? I would say that I dress and act (in public) closer to classy than crude. Crude....I don't hold in farts or burps at home. Guess you could call that crude. And I don't shower if I don't have to. And my husband claims there are times when you could braid my leg hair in the winter :P

In 2 languages, try not to in front of kids.

Do you use the bathroom in front of your spouse?

Try not to but will occasionally do #1 with door open.

Women, do you always put on makeup or nice clothes to leave the house? If not how often do you?

I used to before having 2nd kid. Now I'm happy if I remember to brush my teeth.

Do you eat meals that aren't at the table, such as in bed or in front of the tv? How often?

We only eat ay the table if we have company.

Would you rather watch polo/golf or NASCAR/football? Participate in?

      None of the above.

Do you have fine china? How often do you use it?

      Nooe, don't see the point.

What things about you are classiest? What about you is crude?

I own lots of pearls and I have a very perverted sense of humor.

I make a conscious effort not to. My husband really dislikes it and finds it vulgar. Plus if we're going to start a family I don't want the little kids being influences and known as the potty mouths. Sometimes I will let it fly with a friend I'm close to but even then I try to keep it rare.

        No way. Gross.

I live in the PNW. They don't wear makeup here most of the time. Probably because of all the rain. It's very liberating not to have to wear makeup and be yourself. I don't leave the house much for anything except to exercise in the park. Dh does all the shopping and errands. If we're going to a social event I'll wear something nice and put makeup on.

We sold all our furniture when the students came back for the fall semester so we've been eating where ever. Usually I eat at the table but have been known to eat in front of the computer. We haven't ever owned a TV.

Not really into sports anymore either spectating or participating. I do love watching the Olympics however.

No fine china either. Someday though.

I have some classy clothes and clean up really well. I also have some ratty clothes for cleaning and doing chores.

I had to think for awhile what about me is crude and then I realized it's my Mom. I'm completely embarrassed by her in public sometimes. She loves to say and do things for shock value. After many years of this I'm not easily offended by vulgarity anymore nor surprised by anything that comes out of her. I love my Mom. Sometimes it can be pretty funny to hear it from others like the Seth MacFarlane shows and a movies even if I don't participate in it and try to behave myself.

What DiggityDot said, except that I **used** to swear like a longshoreman. I cleaned up a couple of years ago, although I definitely still use vulgarity--just not as bad. But I don't take the Lord's name in vain. Although sometimes I write "GEEZUS!!" or something like that.

Cribbing off KlynK, because her answers were so close to mine (hope you don't mind!) :

Yes, often. I try not to swear in front of children.

Do you use the bathroom in front of your spouse?
#1 always occurs with the door open. If the other person is in the bathroom, so be it. We've done it for years, long before we were married. #2, mostly not, but that's mostly to avoid each others' stink. We spent many years living in a house where we each had our own bathroom, and it was lovely. Now that we have to share, it's a little more cozy and a little less private.

Women, do you always put on makeup or nice clothes to leave the house? If not how often do you?
I almost never wear makeup. Too lazy. When I do wear makeup, I only put on lip gloss and mascara. I almost always put on jeans to go out though I have been known to run to the store in yoga pants. I did just recently start wearing skirts and dresses to work a couple times a week.

Do you eat meals that aren't at the table, such as in bed or in front of the tv? How often?

Yep, we registered for china for our wedding. We've used it just a few times in the almost 13 years we've been married.

I removed the line about leg hair not because I shave mine, but because I refuse to think of NOT shaving leg hair as "crude". :P

Do you swear? If so, how much? Who, if anyone, do you not swear around?

Yes. Actually, I swear quite a lot. But people always seem surprised when I do. I cannot seem to get away from my goody two shoes image regardless of what I do. DrK frequently scolds me for swearing in front of our children. I suppose I'll regret it when my toddler drops an f-bomb in front of our rabbi or something like that.

Do you use the bathroom in front of your spouse?

No. I like to keep some semblance of mystery. I don't want to know what he does in there either. And if I have to tell the K Bros "don't discuss it, just flush it" once more I'll throw up.

Women, do you always put on makeup or nice clothes to leave the house? If not how often do you?

Yes. Always. I wouldn't be caught dead without my lipstick.

Do you eat meals that aren't at the table, such as in bed or in front of the tv? How often?

Before kids, always. After kids, never. Mostly because they get into my food. Lately, my meals are eaten while standing at the kitchen counter and fending off beggars.

Would you rather watch polo/golf or NASCAR/football? Participate in?

Watch football. Otherwise, I don't do sports.

Do you have fine china? How often do you use it?

Yes. Crystal too. I used both frequently before kids. Now, my dining room has been converted into a playroom. I hope I'll get back to using my nice things when the kids are older. I enjoy having and using nice things even if that means that a glass or plate is ruined from time to time. But I'm not foolish enough to attempt to use such things around my toddler/preschooler.

What things about you are classiest? What about you is crude?

I write letters and thank you notes. I love beautiful penmanship and fine stationary.

I talk too much and I interrupt. It's cultural. Overlapping discussion signals enthusiasm for the topic discussed; silence demonstrates a lack of interest. I'm aware that not everyone sees it that way but I'm unable to restrain myself.

Not all the time. Depends on where I'm going and how I'm feeling.

Do you eat meals that aren't at the table, such as in bed or in front of the tv? How often?

Our dining room is our school room. All meals are eaten in the living room.

Wow. I would *never* have even considered that silence could be construed as a lack of interest. Does it bother you when others are quiet? Do you assume they're not interested, or are you able to realize that they might be, they just aren't discussing it?

I can see the talking too much and interrupting. Totally normal to a lot of the west coast areas. I actually never noticed how much I did it until we relocated to the Midwest where it was weird when people would stop taking and wait. Totally weirded my flow.

Do you swear? If so, how much? Who, if anyone, do you not swear around?

Yes. Way more than I should. I don't swear in front of elderly ladies/gents some other peoples children or my religious friends.

Do you use the bathroom in front of your spouse?

                        Just peeing.

Women, do you always put on makeup or nice clothes to leave the house? If not how often do you?

No. Most if the time I'm in barn clothes/shit kickers. Nice is, clean jeans with a sweater or fleece and in summer...again, clean jeans/crops and v neck t shirt with flip flops.

Do you eat meals that aren't at the table, such as in bed or in front of the tv? How often?

Yes. I try to have this kids eat with me at the counter/stools. When I'm alone it's in the kitchen at the counter or sometimes I'll take a snack to my bed and watch tv.

Would you rather watch polo/golf or NASCAR/football? Participate in?

Polo, live is awesome! (Horse polo, right?) I'll watch football or nascar. But never golf. Boring to me.

Do you have fine china? How often do you use it?

                        Yes but it's packed away.

What things about you are classiest? What about you is crude?

I can turn either on in the right situation. I'm not really sure about answering eithe in regards to myself.

Sometimes. Depends on how I know the person. For instance, I know that you are generally quiet but you so like me (at least I think you do) so it doesn't bother me. Often if someone is too quiet, I feel self-conscious, like I'm boring them or they are not listening or they dislike/disagree with what I'm saying. If they don't speak up, I don't know what they are thinking. Are they judging me? Sometimes people just quietly simmer and contribute little to the discussion if they don't like their company. There are certain people that I'm very quiet around because I dislike talking to them. People I like and with whom I get along well, have very animated conversations with a lot of interruption, segues, interwoven conversational threads. Topics may be dropped or stories left unfinished to be resumed hours later. Lots of verbal sparing, personal stories, jokes, all mixed into one big stew. That's how discussion happens in my family and in my circles. My kids are all big talkers. Even Lambie is already gurgling and cooing.

I do like you! And yes, I'm generally quiet, and I'm glad it doesn't bother you! To me, constant chatter can be exhausting after a while, but I LOVE my chatterbox friends, because I can count on them to carry the conversation, and I don't worry about silences getting awkward, and I know exactly what they're thinking.

Do you swear? If so, how much? Who, if anyone, do you not swear around?

I'm not gonna lie. Before spending a lot if time on IMSN I almost never ever swore. I got into major trouble in 3rd grade for swearing outrageously at school and my mom shamed me to the core. When my parents hear swearing they are so offended. We couldn't say gosh, gee, darn, shoot... They all stood for swear words.

Now after "hanging out" with you guys, I'm known to drop f-bombs, say sh$t, I say damn and hell all the time, and a$$hole. Spanish cuss words come in handy bc my kids don't know them mostly. My dh hates it if I swear so I really control myself. He's a prude.

Do you use the bathroom in front of your spouse?

                              Hell no.

Women, do you always put on makeup or nice clothes to leave the house? If not how often do you?

I always have makeup on unless I'm going to the gym. I always have foundation and an SPF of some type under that. Usually eyeliner and eyeshadow and mascara. It only takes 6 min to put on "my face" and I feel a lot more confidant. Nice clothes-- haven't had any for so long. It's not a big deal in the PNW and I always felt underdressed in the DC area. Thankfully in CA they are casual too. I only put nice clothes on to go out somewhere that requires nice clothes.

Do you eat meals that aren't at the table, such as in bed or in front of the tv? How often?

Never meals and I do not allow the kids to eat anywhere except the table. I will have snacks sometimes on the couch watching tv.

Would you rather watch polo/golf or NASCAR/football? Participate in?

Golf I guess. I don't play it but it's soothing. Football is ok but they take too many commercial breaks. And the announcers are always so annoying.

Do you have fine china? How often do you use it?

No china. Do not want it. My parents keep trying to give us china from my grandma-- it's old and valuable. I do not want it. Totally impractical.

What things about you are classiest? What about you is crude?

Classiest-- I expect really good manners from the kids and they are not allowed to use potty talk at all. I also am usually aware of how to behave in a certain setting. I can talk about almost any subject if I need to, but I'm super introverted so I might just over talk. (Ya know how introverts are. Not great at small talk...)

Crude-- I think in how quick I am to judge other people and call them incompetent. Is this crude? It's not generous and kind behavior. I'm working on it. I don't call them incompetent to their face-- but I do to my kids (like "that clerk is such an idiot") kind of stuff. Not cool.
