I don't like how Facebook always shows the same people on my feed. As a rule I keep my friends under 1,000, but it's always the same 10-20 people who show up, no matter how I change the filters. It's annoying.

I'm annoyed when people I don't know / have no connection to me send friend requests. Sometimes if they have some connection to the music world I'll accept. But not if it just turns into one big advertisement. A few years ago I accepted a request from a girl who maybe? knows people I know? Everything she posted was shameless self promotion of her Christian rock band. Easy enough to ignore, I guess. But recently a video comes up on my feed: sappy background music, she looks straight from an Urban Outfitters ad, but has this mien like she's about to talk about dying children in Africa. So I'm curious. What is she going to say? Maybe she's doing something cool? "god is doing great things with this band, we can't say anything specific just know that he's truly at work." "so please donate so we can record an album" .... I left a comment saying as a musician I've learned it's best to start by making the lives of those in your community better and the money will follow. She deleted the comment and I deleted her.

    Oh, also any game notifications.

I hate all of these things...plus the constant updaters... I don't care that they forgot to mayo your sandwich!

Any political posts, either way, are likely to get you hidden on my newsfeed, as is vaguebooking (I refuse to ask about it)

I love picture updates though! And I don't use hashtags but I don't usually mind them (especially because I have some pretty hilarious friends with wickedly funny hashtags)!

        Facebook Pet Peeves

I hate that we now have to actually rely on FB. I deactivated for a while, but had to go back for my Moms Club. We do everything through a FB book page, which I helped spearhead ironically years ago before FB got annoying as fuck. I also do keep in touch with people through the messaging. And was able to let everyone know we where moving in one swift FB post. It's unavoidable.

I hate all the religious stuff, which I see frequently bec. a lot of my FB friends are black and southern. Black people and southern people love posting about Jesus all the time. Gawd.

I also hate the constant please pay attention to me posts. Some people I delete, but others I just can't because it's such a trainwreck and I can't turn away.

I hate it when people post all. the. time. about one thing: every single thing their kid did today, every meal they eat, every outfit they wear, etc.

The worst is the people who do their "annual friends list clean out, so let me know why we should still be friends!" Ughhhh go away.

There are so many more FB pet peeves of mine, but I don't want to start the day off angry.

Oh. Just logged on and remembered another thing I loathe. Residents that talk about the fact that they're doctors all the time. "Wish I could be watching the game, but I'm working night float, even though I'm currently updating Facebook in the lounge where the game is currently on television. I'M A DOCTOR, REMEMBER?!?!?"

                Facebook Pet Peeves

I have a FB friend who is always posting pics of her kids in front of her massive house. It's funny bec. the kids are like specks bec. she's sure to get the whole damn house into the pic. Yes, we know your husband makes a lot of money.

And I've said on here before how my BIL's wife has posted everything from their house going into foreclosure, to him cheating on her and that's she's going to find another man, and then two weeks later announcing she's four weeks pregnant by him and they're a happy family. Way TMI.

And I've had a few friends post blatantly racist extreme right wing shit, which shocked me bec. I thought I knew them. Deleted immediately.

Recently, I saw a meme floating around that said something to the effect that your Facebook status isn't your diary. I thought that fairly appropriate - however, I'm pretty sure I have overshared here and there occasionally.

I'm guilty of this, but I had not read the entire post (was having a horrible time, trying to take my mind off stuff). When it was pointed out to me, I deleted it. I apologize for offending -- I know I was the deleted person.

Selling crap. Complaining and then saying Happy Friday FB friends! My twenty-something cousin writing cryptic messages to the guys she likes but they are losers. I do belong to local sale pages in our area. It can be a good way to get rid of stuff because you put it on your front porch and people leave you money for it. I put up a microwave to sell and she wanted a discount, wanted me to drive across town to give it to her and kept messaging me when her family couldn't pick it up. I hate garage sale type stuff. From now on, I am going to Goodwill. People sending requests to play their games.

People who share something and then say "and if you don't like it, unfriend me". Really? We're 40-year old women.

Recently, one of my daughter's friends (who I am FB friends with) left her daughter's biological father and then posted a new status: In a relationship with (insert woman's name). She followed it up up with a new status post: Yes, I'm in a relationship with (woman's name) and if you don't like it you can unfriend me.

So I missed the meme....apparently, that's how we're suppose to announce to the world that we are bisexual. It's not a more private affair to think about and share appropriately, but a new FB challenge. I felt so sorry for her daughter (who I'm also friends with). All of us moms are friends with all of these young girls and suddenly many of her friends new this very private detail and were talking about it. Think about your audience. Post maturely. Geesh.

V I'm so sorry, I didn't mean for that to seem like I was calling you out. It's happened a few times with friends over the years.
