People have the ass-backwards idea that docs make a shit ton of money of vaccines. They have no clue that it's usually done at a loss.

There is a huge lack of trust. There is a huge lack of trust everywhere. It's the age we live in. Politics, journalists, doctors, insurance companies, abusive teachers and religious leaders. Seriously, we live in a culture of doubt and predators. You earn your trust through repeated interactions, not salutations or education. There are unethical people from the top to bottoms. There are crappy drugs that companies push too soon for money. It creates a culture of mistrust. It's not personal, but it's hard to operate in. Sorry. I do believe each person can make their small contribution to turning the culture around by building trusting medical relationships that respect other peoples ideas and beliefs.

Dr Sears doesn't advocate non vaxing

Someone else has brought up Dr. Sears now in the post, and stated that doctors make money off of patients and *that's* why there are more vaccines/a huge push to vaccinate children.

Why do dawkters get this kind of attention and following, but people think my husband is questionable?
          It's mind boggling.

Absolutely. First, the OBs were under attack. Let's all home birth so those awful doctors don't get rich forcing us to use pitocin and have c-sections. Thank goodness Rikki Lake warned us. Now, let's take advice from Jenny McCarthy and let her scare us out of vaccinating our children.

My OBs have been afraid to give medical advice. My pediatrician breathes an audible sigh of relief when I agree to vaccinate my children. These people cannot do their jobs. Meanwhile, my SIL actively avoids feeding her son pasterized dairy. We have a generation of people who have never seen infant mortality or the awful effects of polio, turbucolsis, whooping cough so they naively risk the consequences all the while fretting about the risks of lead based paint and crib death.

And FWIW, every time I've seen Dr Oz, he's been talking about poop.

MrsK, so true! Dr. Oz seems to love himself way too much and what's up with his daughter having a show? I want One Life to Live and All My Children back. I don't even like soap operas but I'd rather have them over The Chew and Dr. Oz.

Geez. After your post earlier this week that does not surprise me at all.
