This is an interesting article that appeared on Forbes.com a couple weeks ago. It has a pretty good overview explanation of The Match process for those outside of medicine and then discusses the inefficiencies and failures of the Match system. Some of the statistics quoted are rather shocking -- like 25% of the applicants did not match. TWENTY-FIVE PERCENT?! The author also compares the Match to sorority rush .... which, unfortunately, I think is a pretty apt description of the process. What are your thoughts?
