We eat after DS goes to bed at 7, but lately we've been talking about moving our dinner time earlier so we can all eat together at 5:30. I'm just hesitant because it means DS and I will be eating without DH at least a couple times a week.

We eat between 6 and 7, usually waiting for DH to get home. I like that I think she's learned more table manners and sitting at the table than she would if it's just the toddler eating alone (using the term manners incredibly loosely). I do, however, wish I could eat alone on the nights DH isn't going to make it home. It's unbearable to sit alone, have her dawdle at her food, give baths and then come down and clean it all up.

6-6:30 on a regular night. Sometimes we eat as late as 8 if there are activities. DH is never around so it's just us. The kid activities dictate the time normally.

We usually aim for 6-6:30. We will shift as late as 7pm to adjust for DH (or for activities), but after that he's on his own or I sometimes save a plate for myself and eat with him after serving the kids earlier.

But I've been to events that run late like that and it drives me INSANE. I remember a residency graduation dinner, maybe the year before DH graduated, I hired a babysitter for about the second time in my son's life. Dinner was supposed to be at, oh, say 6pm, and I think I told the sitter I'd be back by 8? By the time our order was taken at about 8:30 I was climbing the walls! I ended up scarfing my food, ditching my husband to find another ride, and fleeing before the presentations were even done.
