  • New Hairstyle??

I made an appointment to get my hair done this weekend - cut with partial highlights and lowlights. As an aside, I mentioned to hubby that I needed to get it done, and he responded saying I just had it done. Umm, 3 months ago!!

Anyway, I'm wearing it up a lot more, because who has time to dry it every day when you have to take care of a baby (it gets SUPER greasy if I don't wash it every morning)? My hair is super fine and straight, and I'm keeping it about shoulder length. I like having side bangs, because I think I have a giant forehead, but the bangs just look super frumpy when I wear a ponytail. So, what do I do??

    Photo evidence:
    Ponytail: https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7372/...29f6a0f85e.jpg
Fixed hair, although the bangs are too long, probably: https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3746/...55b3cb1a02.jpg
Back when it was shorter and blonder, and I was chubbier and pregnant: https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7302/...69de0897a2.jpg
And for kicks, my natural hair color: https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8354/...461c631aa3.jpg

I'd go with something like your pregnancy/natural color pics in terms of bangs. I think the slightly darker color from the second picture is very flattering. Was it easier to style when it was shorter? How old is your blow drier? I just bought a new one for about $50 and it cut my drying time from 30+ minutes to 15 tops (if I'm getting it super dry). Have you tried a dry shampoo and use regular every other day?

I would love to see a pixie cut on you: super short, in a shade of brunette, with low lights and highlights.
You wouldn't need to style it, it would never be in your face, and it's very wash and wear.

Hairdryer makes a HUGE difference. I have super-fine hair, but a lot of it. It takes forever to dry unless I use a good hairdryer.

I really like your hair in the bottom pic. Great length and the color is really flattering. The lighter color washes you out.

It was faster to style when shorter, yes. My drier is not that old, and works really well. It's really more of a laziness thing than actual time. I haven't tried dry shampoo, but I really need to.

I really don't think my hair can do wash and wear. It's so fine and straight, it just looks flat and thin, plus the ends flip out all weird ways if I don't at least dry it to flip them under. I can't find any pictures of it like that though.

Here's an old picture I found of it even shorter: https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-3...723_185146.jpg

I'm going to keep the color I have now - I like it close to the natural color but with some mild highlights. I'm trying to get it closer to that after my new stylist got it a bit too blonde at first.

Clearly I'm procrastinating finishing a book chapter...

                More pictures:
I think I may not have styled it in these pictures:

                It was also short here:

I feel like this is also a game of let's see how my weight has changed over the last 5 years...

                  I'm talking short short.
Your facial bone structure could totally support it, and t would be a 5 minute style in the morning, getting ready.

I totally got mine chopped off into a messy pixie cut a few months post-baby, and I don't regret it at all!

No idea. I suck at this game. I like the darkest color on you though.

Ha, my sister says I can't get a mom cut. Then again I don't think I'll take the advice of a 30 year old who has pink highlights and wears braided pigtails.

I really think the darker color is beautiful. I would go back to natural, shorter and more layered. Bonus about the darker color is less time coloring. Have fun whatever you decide!!!!
