It's a terrible story - but kids don't make decisions well and sometimes don't have a grasp on mortality. I'm not sure they "get" that death is permanent.

I'm reminded about the movie of the two teens that killed someone together as a solution to their problem. In the movie the characters were oddly disconnected from what they had done. The girls went to prison and after release, one has gone on to be a famous mystery writer. You'd never guess she bludgeoned her friends mother to death at 15. So, maybe they can rehabilitate her?

I think she needs to be carefully evaluated by mental health experts to determine if she has some disorder or if she's just made a terrible choice at a young age.

the problem i have with stories about reform murders is--well, most murders are not going to be 'reform'. also just because a killer doesn't kill again--it doesn't mean she's a reform. there's are serial killers--and just regular murders.
