Hey everyone -
Have any of you sold your house "for sale by owner"? I know I am jumping the gun a little bit for match day, but I want to have our house ready to sell by March 18, just in case we get a match out of state. (That way, if we do stay here, I've got a nice, clean, organized house ) But I digress...
My question is, do any of you FSBO's have any advice - things that worked for you, things I should be sure to watch out for, etc in that arena? We are going to give it a go for about 60 days on our own before we resort to an agent (that 6% is a little pricey for our range right now!).
I have found some good web sites... http://www.forsalebyowner.com, etc. that offer some good advice, but I'm just wondering if any of you have anything that would help in this matter as well. Thank you so much!
There really aren't any major problems to fix with our house - we walked into this little gem out of the blue after year one in med school (it saved us 15,000 a YEAR just for in-state tuition!!) - it has a kitchen to die for! (I will be SO SAD to leave that one! That is what sold us on the house), and a lot of other fun little architectural points to it. I'm just scared for the whole marketing, pricing, etc aspect of going about it on our own.
Thanks again for your input! Have a great day!
