"Just For Today" megathread. Post little announcements, petty rants, small victories, and superficial confessions here for one day only. But please please please consider opening new threads too. We nosy chickens want to read all the details and talk everything over ad nauseum too.

Stayed up too late last night, and grumpy baby woke up for good at 6:45, right as I got in the shower (I let her cry while I was in there - it's too hard to shower when she's roaming freely in the bathroom, and she'd be crying there anyway). Then she alternated in between getting into everything she wasn't supposed to, requiring me to run after her or take whatever she had found that she couldn't have in my bathroom cabinets, or screaming. Then I couldn't find my keys, so I had to take the backups (they were in my diaper bag, I just didn't have time to dig and find them). Such an annoying morning already. I need to get my bathroom childproofed ASAP. I give her one cabinet to play in, and there are a ton of toys, but of course all she wants is the cabinets with the unsafe stuff.

Update: I did shower. we've decided to have a HarryPotter-a-thon. Beginning to end before bedtime. Not sure we'll make it, but we'll go down trying.

Just called the pediatrician to schedule the kids' flu shots and had a "holy buckets" moment when I heard myself say that I have 3 children.

We saw a pair of raccoons travel across the top of our fence this morning! Super cute and the kids had fun watching them climb a tree and try to eat an apple in the fork of it and then drop the apple, but...holy crap, I need to be better about containing my compost. :\

Total zombie today. My alarm went off when I was apparently in the middle of some very deep sleep because I don't even remember it buzzing. Thankfully I had the wherewithal to hit the snooze and not turn it off otherwise I never would have made it out of bed this morning and got to where I was going. My eyes are still burning 4 hours later. Think I'll go slip in a nap before lunch.

This probably isn't news to anyone, but egg beaters are disgusting. Even with cheddar, peppers, and onions mixed in. I just can't. (Naturally I bought the four pack at Sams Club)

Our old college cafeteria used them for eggs and omelets, unless you specifically requested real eggs.

Brand of hummus I bought on sale is gross. Forced myself to eat it at lunch today.

I'm tempted to go out and buy cookies. If DH calls me out on my sugar consumption one.more.time, after I passed the glucose test, I am going to punch him in the nuts. And then eat a pint of Ben & Jerry's.

My heart breaks every time I hear of a private plane crash owned by an MD. Statistics show that accidents are much more likely if they learned to fly after they became an MD. I don't think my DH knew this NSG but my heart goes out to his family. http://www.kansascity.com/news/local...le2701581.html

ALOY, do you have an exersaucer? Putting ours in my bathroom saved me so much time and frustration getting ready.

Cheri that is really sad. I don't like small planes. I think it is hard to keep them maintained properly
